I think my fuel pump has gone as i got metal fragments in a sample of fuel i drained from the inlet end of the fuel filter?

And the car only idles and doesnt have any power?

Anyone else had the change there fuel pump on a Zed before and

not on a Zed, had fuel pumps go on other cars, ran like shit, lummpy, no power, spluttery and just generally not happy.

Yes and i am renewing it but that does not account for metal in the fuel does it and theres nothing between the feuel pump and filter other than pipes correct me if im wrong so it must be the pump breaking up and is this common on zeds???? :confused: :confused:

have you let it run REALLY low on fuel at some point

 

water moisture can get in the fuel tank, and 'can' sometimes create a surface rust at the bottom of the tank, so you might have picked up tiny bits of rust...i would guess that these going through a fuel pump would get chopped about, so if there was any GOOD metal left in these little fragments or if these fragments have chiped at the pumps innards you would see these speckles.

No rust in tank and no visible dirt tank spotless......sock damaged on pump though??? :shock: :shock:

just changed mine, easiest job in the world, make sure u release the fuel pressure though!!!

Symptoms were loud buzzing and the car hesitated when giving it a lbit of stick, problem now solved!

no metal bits in the tank though..???

Got another pump was not the pump in the end !!!!!

Plugs Are coked....Any ideas????
