Just not to worry matey everything will be fine ;)

My brothers missus has had four  , and AFAIK woman are not recomended to have more than two.

But she is still fine matey.

We had to go in early because our little one was not in good shape and couldnt last much longer, but turned out she did it herself came a few weeks early and just before we were due to go in! and all was ok in the end :)

Just chill out, give her plenty of support and take a toke on the missus gas before she goes in, I had a go on it lol ;)

Pete,

My first daughter was CS.............. Advice???? Ermmmmm nothing much, but just give plenty of encouragement. One thing though, the damm injection is still painfull, so be there for her, in mind as well as body i mean. She may also have the 'Shakes' afterwards, so it's nothing un-toward in that, but just so that you know to expect it. Apart from that, and some disscomfort, it is far less painfull for her. Not nice to see the one you love in pain during childbirth.

One thing........... at least she won't be shouting things like,

"I'LL NEVER LET YOU ANYWHERE NEAR ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!" lol

Anyway, heres wishing all the best for all of you in the years to come mate ;) :duffer: :duffer: Well done.

Hey I'm not into that stuff anymore ;)

Its wierd having an exact date, I will have to chjeck my diary to see if I'm free :D

Best of luck to the whole Shrimp household

:D:D:D:D

Good luck to you mate, yer missus & shrimp junior :D

feel for you mate...we've had 4 kids no CS...all i can say is childbirth is sheer bloody drama for those who are there...total stress...but i wouldnt have missed it for the world...good luck and take plenty of food...hospital tea n toast is ok..the rest looks dodgy...from what i know it can be a while before the mum can even hold the baby due to possible stomach damage so be prepared to be mum for a few days

regards

Yeah they've told Mrs Shrimp that, I guess it must be pretty upsetting for the mother not to hold the baby :(

Thanks for the GL wishes, I'll pass them on :) even to the cat :D

yep its a right bitch...make no mistake...CS aint a soft option the papers say it is...the only advantage for those choosing is you can book it in....but the recovery is a hell of a lot longer...if you aint got a choice (like Mrs Shrimp) its gonna be hard on your daily routine both work and other kid wise

wife had CS with first child, she got to hold it, but was made take it very easy for a month afterwards, have to watch the stiches dont burst, and make sure she does the exercises they give her or she will end up with a pot belly,

Yep you're right there, 4-5 weeks they say.

People say I'm lucky to get 2 weeks paid paternity leave, so thats 2-3 weeks where she is at home recovering and I cant be at home to look after her :( Hope I've got understanding relatives around.

I would start the leave after she comes out of hospital but we discovered ANOTHER leak in the kitchen over the w/e so I'll spend those days fitting new flooring and sorting it out. Thats the third we've had, each of which has ruined the kitchen floor and units, and hall floor - tip - DON'T buy a new house! Our insurance dealt with the 1st, Anglian Water with the 2nd, and this time there isnt time to sort it through insurance before the new arrival so I'll do it myself. It took 5-6 months to get the kitchen sorted the last 2 times and I'm not going throught that again

Great timing eh

Good look to the Shrimps, there's nothing like being there to see it for yourself.

Jeez, that's a bit drastic - hope she used a sharp knife ;)

One of my mate wives said it was like having someone do the washing up in her tummy.

I've got three kids all came naturally but just hold her hand, mop her brow, say encouraging things and don't pass out.

wish her best of luck and don't worry mate you'll get used to being a dad. My eldest lad was at billing with me sups like a good'n. Just ask Adam R and Hermy.

its true, they do say it feels like they are doing the washing up in your tummy, sensation but no pain. The epidurals are good, my mrs said so, she's a midwife, and just had a baby....but only a 40 minute labour!

About six months ago my sister got a severe form of pre-eclyampsia called 'helpp syndrom' or something.

It was in week 26 of pregnancy, which is borderline for the child's survival. Her and the baby were going to die so they did a caesarian straight away and they were both fine.

It's a very simple proceedure these days and plenty of people choose it over normal birth. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Everyone says 'it must be tough for the woman' which is true but it's tough for the guy too. Chin up, be there for her and it'll all be fine.

My first was born by CS and was breech too...was a case of in and out pretty much, nothing to worry about.

Best thing is, i got to hold my gal before the missus as she was all doped up ;) and the little sod shat on my hand

in and out of theatre i mean, not hospital.

My other half gave birth to our son after 21hrs!he was upside down in the birth canal and it was touch and go whether she had to have a CS! but luckily he turned round and came out the normal way also she wanted it as natural as poss without any epidurals gases or such like, dont get me wrong its each for there own and if a mother has pre eclampsia or is in fear of the whole pushing thing then fairplay aslong as mother and baby are safe&well

good luck also you will all be fine! daunting but you will be a proud dad for sure :D

all the best greg
