Black trim - a useful tip.....

Hi all

in view of recent thread on covering the black trim with electrical tape to smarten it up I came up with another idea and it seems to work.....

Black footbal boot polish !!

I got some red Colour Magic stains on the trim when polishing the Zed last week. They soaked into the black bits and made it a bugger to remove, so I gave them a clean with black football boot polish - more waterproof and durable than regular shoe polish. A couple of coats to let it absorb into the trim and one more to finish and it looks good as new :hyper:

Much cheaper than replacing all the black bits ;)

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Nice idea :D ill give it a try!

I did mine the other day with one of them black dye fabric markers the other day, looks a lot better covered really well, but the prob was, when doing it on the smaller cracks the end went either side of the cracks too, now when the sun shines you can see darker lines on the leather :(, but its still better than having creamy cracks everywhere (lmfao that sounds a bit rude doesnt it?)

My only concern with using shoe polish was that it would come off on me clothes, but seeing as the boot polish seems to have worked for you, ill give it a shot ;)
