hey guys just got z back from mot station,

it failed on emmissions

is there any upgraded sensors on the market or cant you get any better than standard! ive heard about wide band sensors but what is the advantage of these?????

any help gratefully recieved! steven

If its running rich and its out of range then isn't it actually giving you the right reading? ;) Boost leak on that bank

I suspect you just have a sticky O2 sensor, unless you're going for wild tuning then replacing it with a standard one is probably most appropriate.

Easy test. Disconnect that O2 sensor, reset ECU. Does that bank then run correctly?

 

YES=O2 is causing it

NO=O2 is telling the truth

how does an o2 sensor stick then???

is an o/e sensor best or are they stupid money??

They get fouled up over time. Don't replace it yet though! It may well be reading correctly ;)

Also find the connector to the wiring loom It has 3 wires a red a white and a black. Get the connector apart and check for green oxide. My diagnostic showed an iffy ns one but cleaning the connector cured it. I think the OS one is on the side of the plenum towards the rear.

 

Run the diagnostic and count the flashes for the sensors
