New owner needs help with headlights

I have a 1990 300zx and after my 18 year old son (with my help and guildance) changed the stocked bose am/fm cassette deck over to a really nice Panasonic am/fm/cd and I (still) can not get my regular or non-highbeam headlights to work. The fuse is ok, and I can feel/here the dimmer relay in the engine tcompartment toggle when I turn the headlight switch on and off, but I measured 0 voltages at the plug going to the light bulb itself. Does anyone know where I can view a detail schmatic of the headlight system for my year Z, or, is anyone familiar with this problem? There is a possibility that the Illumination control siginal/wire might have something to do with this?! It is not connected to the new unit.

I noticed most problems posted here are "engine/proformance" related, so, hope this is the correct place to ask this question.

Did he wire it into the original switch to the ignition and constant live from the old head unit?

I had a problem where when I wired my head unit into the ignition and dvd etc, it drained so much power from the circuit the clock and some other bits didnt want to work at the same time.

I wired in a new one indipendant of the rest and it was fine, I dont suppose he took a feed from the light circuit? just a guess, my first would have been fuses, but as you already checked that
