Usually its the speed sensor or the Speedo KPH to MPH converter. Has it been converted?

it hasnt been converetd its still runin in kilometeres

That is strange. When the steering goes with the speedo its because of the speed converter or speed sensor. When the dial stops working it doesnt effect the steering. I think you may have a speed converter but its stopped working, or the speed converter thats been put on could be faulty. Was it a new one or used?

i dont think it has a convereter fitted, but the speed sensor was second hand when i got it. yer as above the power steering dont work at all the kilometers stooped counting and the speedo well its eratic it flicks bac and forward when im driving it doesnt do it all the time mind oh and the cruise control doesnt work im confused.

The steering goes potty because it is speed related. It gets harder as you speed up. Because the speed sensor is sending dodgy information to the steering its not working correctly, its also causing the dial not to work and the cruise control works off from how fast you are going so that wont work.

Sounds like the speed sensor you used is past its best.

Go into the trader section and leave a message for AndyZ see if he has any good used ones. If not get a new one to make sure.

You may not get an answer straight away as it is Billing this week. The countries largest Japanese car festival and most people go to it.
