Do lowering springs (compared to stock Jap springs) have a detrimental effect on ride quality, i.e., does the ride become firmer? Has anyone lowered their car (upto about 20mm)?

Also, anyone have experience with replacing the anti-sway bars for new ones?

I'm not really looking to lower the car any further than it already is (and mine isn't lowered at all) but I just wanted to know. Serious about the asb's though.

Thanks guys,

Danny

I got anti-sway bars and new Tokico adjustables fitted at the same time, so I don't know which made the most difference, but two of the old shocks were leaking and the standard sway bars are made of playdough so the end result was a great improvement.

Also had new S-03's the week before - expensive time, but what a difference.

Hi Andy,

Where did you get the anti sway bars from and how much were they? Also, are the Tokico springs adjustable for hight as well as firmness?

Sorry for the questions but am very curious.

Cheers mate!

Danny

The sway bars and shocks came from MJP, however, I suspect that Johnny could get them a little cheaper. I think that all in my bill was about £900 !

The shocks are only adjustable for damping, not ride height. I didn't want may car lowered, it's too impractical for me.

Mine is lowered (err I think it is anyway - might just be that bag of cement in the boot) and sat on 18's and it corners like its on rails.

Ride doesn't suffer *too* badly tho the front spoiler does frown.gif

Tho Im not worthy, as I have all the toys on my car but I dont know how to use em, apparently.

A setup like Eibach Pro Kit with KYB AGX shocks won't be punishing. For daily driving, most put the KYBs to 1 front, 2 rear (up to 4 front, 8 rear). I don't like the Tokicos as much as the KYBs due to some reliability issues I've had with the Tokicos.

I can get you the KYB/Eibach plus Stillen anti-sway bars for around 632 pounds. Shipping would be around 103 pounds for the spring/shocks and 70 pounds for the sway bars.

I'd also recommend a front camber kit after the drop since you'll have excessive negative camber; you'll chew up your inner front tires fairly quick with -2.5 to -3.0 deg of camber.

Bloody hell! I didn't quite expect these goodies to be that expensive! Suppose I'll have to wait for more affluent times before going down this route.

AndyP & Phuong - thanks for the figures!

Good night all,
