Well, I just purchased a 1990 300zx and my first project was to install a new am/fm/cd player in the car in place of the stock Bose am/fm/cassette. With the help of the forum, I was able to by pass te 4 separate amps used on the Bose system and get my new unit to work fine (I plan to add a sub woofer in the near furture though). Now the problem, after installing the new unit, I noticed the headlights work only in the high beam position! (lights will not turn on in the "normal" position). Can anyone please help?! By the way, I did not connect the Illu. control or the amp signals to the new unit. I assume the amp signal was used on the old to somehow control the 4 separate speaker amps, and the Illu. signal was used to dim the display light on the old unit, but, I might be wrong.

More than likely unrelated. Check the fuses and relays in the box behind the passenger headlamp.

I had this problem, when I Installed my Stereo.

it's was a fuse in the drivers footwell.

Yes, I checked the fuse and it is fine. I need to know if anyone w=know what the Illu. control signal is for? Also, where can I get a schematic of the light system for my 1990? I did view a thread on this sight that had a link to an online manual, however, I don't think it was for my car (It only showed 1 amp for both of the rear speakers, I have 1 amp fr each one, and it did not show separate amps for the 2 front speakers). I believe the key to finding the problem is the high beam light work, but the "standard" beam light don't. Any informaation would be helpful!
