I have purchased some standard, Jap spec Z32 calipers (early UK also) to replace my iron ones.

Question is:

are these going to fit exactly the same as the Iron UK caliper, or will some kind of spacer be needed to move the disk out a bit (as Ive been advised) and if so what size spacer?

or to put it another way,

Do early UK cars (and Jap spec cars) require a slightly different disk from later UK cars

due to the change in caliper from the Alloy (sumitomo Nissan) caliper to the Iron Nissan caliper?

anyone?

As far as I am aware the only difference in any of the zed brakes is that the NA version has slightly thinner disks on the front. I have never heard of a difference between the alloy and cast callipers or the brake disks associated with them, so think you should be fine. As always, I stand to be corrected :)

Dont get excited I replied cause I have honestly no idea at all about this, I was just going to say that I would check twin turbo net for that answer, try a search on it it usualy kicks stuff up for me that no one on here knows.

lol now i sound like a t*** cause jock had already responded to this post while I was typing, i'll get me coat.....

all input appreciated ;)

All std Z front discs are the same diameter. As Jock said, on early Non Turbos (89-mid 90) the discs are thinner - 26mm vs 30mm for TTs. The alloy calipers should just bolt on.

I cant remember the exact details, but I think the original calipers where aluminum but where then changed to iron because the alloy ones kept warping. You can no longer get the alloy ones from new only the iron ones they would have to be able to just fit onto the cars which had alloy ones originally.

Its either that or they replaced the iron with alloy, but I would think its aluminium with iron.
