Not heard of many people using them.

It's a bit more expensive than the HKS Super AFR but it has a knock meter built in that is meant to work with the stock det sensor.

Just wondered if anyone has tried it?

Anybody got any opinions on fuel controllers Apexi or HKS Super AFR?

Both have the option to correct the fueling for cars with BOV's and I like the idea of being able to adjust the fueling without having to get a laptop linked up, modify the ROM (not a 5 minute job!), test it out etc.

If I go to get it set up at a dyno I'm sure they will be able to adjust it much easier than mapping a new chip.

The knock meter sounds like a very good idea on the Apexi but how well it works I don't know (it does say it works with a Z32 knock sensor)

What are the disadvantages?

Chris.

I have one (old model), but it's useless without a wideband o2 sensor and too dangerous to just "play" around with. (it can make your motor go bang quite easily :D)

The new AFC indeed has an option to use input of a knock sensor, but I'm not sure they mean the stock sensor with that...knowing Apexi they'll probably mean some seperate knock sensor you'll have to purchase from them. ;)

Ihad the SAFC 2 on mine, brilliant kit,and knock sensor works with the stock one on the ecu, great stuff as you can see whats happening,it goes from 0-100,most of the time it stays at zero if all ok,it does pick up the occasional back ground noise, goes to about ten, anything above that could signal problem,ie low detting, top kit as i said

I've ordered the Apexi from Chris @ GetGreddy for a really good price.

I'm wanting it for it's monitoring features and BOV correction more than being able to adjust the fuel myself (like you say it's dangerous without proper test equipment) but it will make it much easier for the experts to tweak the fueling on a rolling road session.

Chris im ordering a pair of ApexI BOVs - how much do these affect the car's performance when swapped in place of the recircs? would you recommend installing the SAFC2 to help prevent over-fuelling after dump?
