OK, I have a question this time:

 

Why do intercoolers cost so much more than raditators / oil coolers? Are they fundamentally so different so as to justify being so much more?

Production.

 

Radiators and oil cooler cores are quite universal. So you can mass produce loads of cores at once and they will be used a huge range of different cars.

 

Most intercoolers are quite specific to each car so each make of intercooler has a much more limited market. The materials used are more expensive as it has to cool air which is rushing through it, when oil and water flow at a much slower rate to have more time to cool.

Also don't forget if you price up 2 alloy rads add about 50 quids of hardware you then have the price of an intercooler kit, cos it's usually X 2 for coolers, just 1 for the rad !

i agree, intercoolers are extremely overpriced for what they are!!

I can get them fabbed same as Greedy for about £400 to £450 a pair and rad's for about £280 and thats almost twice the volume of standard. So I think the price is for the name.

Yes intercoolers are overpriced.They charge too much for the piping and the exits the core is very cheap but i ve been told that greedy intercoolers deserve their money.
