Auto stalling after oil change

OK, the car has recently had engine and auto box oil change.

All looked fine, except now when you start the car, and put it in drive, the car will stall.

If you leave the car to warm up for a few minutes, it's fine.

Does this sound like someones not put the correct type or amount of oil in, or could it be something else.

I'm tempted to get the gearbox oil redone.

Whats the correct spec and quantity of oil for the (Jap) autobox?

Alex.

I would first check the oil level, it should have Dexron 3 from memory, the quantity you put in depends on how much came out as its very difficult to drain all the oil.

Have you checked the alternator drive belt tension? May sound a bit unlikely but I had the same problem and it was a slack alternator drive belt. Suppose the reason was when you stick it in drive the revs drop a bit and combined with a loose drivbelt the alternator output drops too much and the engine stalls!

I'll check it out - thanks for the tips.

Alex.
