Cant believe it, for probably the 4th time this year already I am ill again!! (no sarky comments about my mental state please!!) I HATE being ill....... :nono:

Had to leave work early today, thought I was gonna pass out so had to go into the spare office, drink coffee and have a choccy bar (as recommended by my boss) and thta really seemed to give me some energy.....but I was still really shaken so I got to go home. Drove the zed 50 miles home without going above 0+/-psi, thats how slow I went!!!!

Bin home, had a kip, dont feel 100% typing this now but I feel better for the kip.......had the doc ring me, says its more than likely some viral infection rather than Diabetes or anything like that, although my family do have a history of this.....

Anyone else has somet similiar.....ie low sugar levels.....cant wait to get better, the zed needs a polish!! :p

Do what I do, just take 3-4 sugars in every cup of tea or coffee and you'll be fine on the energy front! Or you could try some of whatever Nelsons been on recently!! LOL!!  :D

3-4 sugars, good idea that, think I might go put the kettle on now....

Is ti possible too have too much sugar??

Year before last I got that Asian Flue and I lost 3weeks of my life. No recollection at all. Was really ill, but the worst was that it took me about 6 months to get so I felt that a good sh@gg woundn't kill me.

That started by feeling faint and just a bit removed and woozy for a day or so. Also had like a slight emonia type taste when I breathed in.

I would have a blood test mate, rather than relying on a doctor to diagnose diabetes ot whatever over the phone, specially if your family has a history of it

Well, I still feel sh1te, had soem food, struggled to keep it down, just feel like I have no energry even though I have been drinking Lucozade most the afternoon......

I guess with normal FLu you at least have a headache, sore throat etc etc but with whatever I have, I do just feel a bit out of it, very drained and a little sicky....weird, never had this before....

Jock, I think I will mate, just for the sake of knowing really....

ITS TIMES LIKE KNOW I REALLY TAKE BEING WELL FOR GRANTED :(

Yes - your teeth might fall out 5 years from now :D

I used to get faint / dizzy spells most summers when I was a bingo caller (dont laugh!) where it seemed like the whole room was about to flip over. It felt like I was going to fall off my stool so I used to suddenly grab it from time to time much to the rest of the staff's amusment.

Put it down to the 13 hour days with fried food every lunch & dinner time.

Changed my diet a bit and tried to get some exercise in, have been fine since.

Dont touch the sugar mate- it will just make you feel great for a while, then you will sink straight back down and feel twice as crap. Just get as much green salad stuff as you can down ya neck + loads of fruit. Drink plenty of water too. Stick to a green diet and you wont get ill.

I'm off for a maccy dee now- Doh! :slap:

i always manage to go down with a flu every two months or so. God it p1sses me off! As soon as i feel achy and get a tingling head i just take some cough medicine, a sleeping tab, some vodka ;) put on about ten layers of clothes and then go to bed. if ever i wake up, its gone!!! God i hate flus

Low Blood Sugar (Glucose) is called Hypoglycaemia, have a look HERE

Where-as Diabetes is High blood Sugar (Glucose), LINK

By the sounds of it, it may be the first, but get it checked out, it is important. I used to work with a guy who had Hypoglycaemia, in the bad cases you seem to all others around you like your drunk, and it isnt nice.

HTH

Work places are the place to catch viruses!!! Wish you better and get an outdoors job!!

Geoff.

Falling off your stool can be very messy, may I surgest Alex that you contact a plumber to fit a deeper toilet bowl. And why may I ask,did you call Bingo's.They are cute little creatures that would not harm a fly. :nono: Shame on you :slap:

Do u think its true that men are wooses when it come to being ill or is it that woman dont get it as bad as us?

  • 2 weeks later...

Could be anaemia... ?

You need enough iron AND enough vitamin C! And tea and coffee affect absorbtion so don't have those an hour either side of a meal either.

I had NO energy for six months a while back and just got a bit cleverer about five portions a day and a balanced diet - made such a difference!

I think my sugar's pretty marginal, if I have even one day where I don't get at least two square meals I'm buggered for a week. :(
