Don't whether it's the same for you guys but over the past 2-3 weeks, I have noticed quite a few mobile cameras. I was on the way home from work last week when I got flashed and waved at by a BMW X5, telling me to slow down. Thought it a bit strange as the road we were on was a 60mph road but then realized that after half a mile it becomes a 30mph and sure enough, after a blind corner on a crest there were 3 jam sandwiches with 3 bobbies, 1 of which was pointing a laser gun at us. Luckily we had slowed down to the correct speed but you could tell in his face that he was not happy that we were no speeding.

 

Surely they should have put up notices shouldn't they?

 

There was another one towards sheffield on the parkway. 1 van with 2 cameras on a stand behind the car. I assume the copper was sat in the car watching everything on video. The road is a 50 and came round doing about 58mph. hhmmmm. That was monday so not in the clear yet.

 

There was anotherone last night on the way home on the A61 just before the dronfield bypass towards chesterfield. This one was a mobile camera van. Not sure whether i was ok with this one or not.

 

What the Feck is going on? Time for a Road angel and a jammer I think!

 

 

Anyone else noticed an increase in thier area?

ive actually noticed a decrease in my area, about a year ago they were everywhere, now they have been replaced with speed cameras or flashing slow down signs. I think they upset a few too many people

must have decided to move them all up north.

I left work for lunch on Tuesday and on my way home I noticed a Red fiesta with B&Q on it (as in the DIY place) with a copper in it.........thought nothing of it apart from thinking it was a bit odd..........went home, had lunch and drove back to work, on my way back to work I noticed a police van pulling into the road infront of me (about 200 yards infront) with CCTV on the side.

 

I couldn't be sure if it had a camera in the back pointing back at the traffic behind so I made sure I was doing 30mph, just as I passed the junction a red fiesta (with B&Q on it) came out behind me and started to tailgate me, I mean really close! He might as well have been sitting the boot of my Z..........now this if I had not seen the 'B&Q' car with copper in already, this would have made me speed up to get this guy from the rear of my Z...........then if there was a camera in the back of this CCTV police van I would have been done for speeding but it was a copper up the back end of my car (I only knew cause I saw him previous)

 

You can imagine if I had not have seen then got a nice picture through the post with me speeding and the B&Q car behind........

 

Clever eh..........tossers!!

The turning for my work gates was about 300 yards further on so I touched the brake and he backed off, I slowed right down to make a meal out of the turn and he just threw me a dirty look........

 

.......I was tempted to stick the middle finger up to catch it, but thought naaaa....

even if it was entraptment it's not generally illegal, the only type which is illegal is when the police create a crime, plant the idea of that plan into an otherwise innocent person's mind, and then carry out the plan just to prosecute someone, and i wouldn't have thought a speeding case would hold up:(

having a cop in an unmarked car up yer behind tempting you to break the speed limit while a mobile cam£ra gets ready to $nap you sounds like the set-up of the century! either way they are tossers, taxmen, and do nothing to improve road safety. my 3p worth. :)
