all u do is connect ur xbox to the pc , with some free sofeware off net(cross over net cable needed £5),copy over your save games if yu want to and saved game date.plug in the new HD and start it up with the evo-x disk, and then copy back the info.

only paid £52 for the HD and can prob hold about 50games, oh i put a PC graphics card fan on top £11 just coz the run abit hotter and can cut off sometimes

And you can stream MP3s and videos (mpg, avi, divx, etc ) from your PC onto the XBox.

The only real thing missing is IR control to switch it on and I modified mine to do that a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds cool mate, must admit I have always been a Playstation fan, but when I was up at me Bro's while he was on holiday I didn't touch the bloody thing! LOL :)

But...then when he came back he introduced me to Rainbow Six Live and F\/ck me that was the dogs knackers! ;)

Most impressive to say the least, talking to the people online while you are getting shot...in my case anyway as I was cack! :) But was most impressed!

Your wish is my command oh Turbot one! http://www.hdloader.com

Their great! Block Busters will never seem the same again!

LOL

Cheers bud, you are a diamond make no mistake!

Be careful, my sons is cracked/chipped and like a "Just teenager" that he is, he went on live in Chipped mode and now the box is Banned! It banns the box not the account!

Hence me looking for another just for live!

Even bought him 12months more for his 13th...usless now...

U XBOXers heard bout the power cables? Some of them made last year have a change that they will burst into flames during use. Check XBOX.com to see if your xbox is affected, you will need your serial number and manufacture date. Microsoft will send u a free replacement if they think u have a chance of having a duff cable.

Got similar setup to the chip / HDD in my xbox crystall. Put some funky blue LED's in there too - looks the biz :D:D:D

Dont most chips have a switch to turn off the Xecuter?

Mine has, so it can be chipped, or XBOX LIVE safe...

And Thanks AstrasSuck, I had seen the press release, but have yet to check, even though I suspect mine os affected...

What I want to know, (well I dont really !!) is how come they replace the cable, but say that the later, unaffected Xboxes, have a different system inside that will prevent a cable overheating?

If mine is affected, surely changing just the cable is going to do bugger all!

Typical microsoft!

oh well!

Does anybody know where i could possibly get my PS2 (slimline version) chipped from?

Trying to find someone but cant seem to get hold of anyone

Yes. Mine is one of them :(

Never had any problems, but I must say it not heavily used, but it is on for hours at a time when watching DVDs or such.

I cant wait for XBOX2. Been reading some information about it and its going to be amazing.

I have always perfered XBOX, it is superior than the PS2, just the PS2 was more estabilished and always had a greater choice of games. But the XBOX is slowly getting more popular so more games are coming out.

Just got my replacement cable through today. They have built in something that looks like a RCD device inbetween the plug and socket.

I assume the new xboxes will have this device built in, hence no need for a replacement cable.

I thought that the warning wasn't limited to just those xboxes made in the last year but also to older boxes as well.

I'd buy an xbox if it didn't look like shit and would fit into my entertainment system as easily as my ps2

had my ps2 since the day they were released and never had any problems with it, ps3 will blow everything current(and the xbox2) out of the water :D.

psp will be my next purchase i think,

Just ordered one mate. Should be here tomorrow :hyper: Apart from removing the badge and then cutting the relevant sized hole is there any other modding required to fit it?

Ben :nana2: :nana:

you have to remove the metal sheet in the top, i left mine out, but u can cut a hole in it, the case is a tight fit after, you can pick the power up for the fan from the rear system fan, just splice in the wires

  • Author

you have to make some small slots where the screws stick out on the fan , i also took the edge of the side of the screw fixings. the fan is just stuck in place with the pads that come with it and the top case holds it in place onced screwed down

yep, xbox's are sound.

Mines downstairs - linked to my wireless network, I can d/l games, avis etc off the netm then stream them from the pc to the TV :)

Its a brilliant media center for downstairs - linked to a DTS amp for mp3s too :)

I guess I could probably do it, if there are instructions available.

cheers krsmayo - nice comprehensive guide - just what i needed :D Looks simple enough. I have already got another fan running on the back of my box (ready for when all the modding gets done :D) so it will be able to run 3 fans w/o any problem from the same point?
