How to improve the lights

Any ideas chaps? Ive heard (and seen for myself, comparing to beemer 100/50 watt bulbs) they aint all that, ive seen people do weird things with extra wiring from the battery and this HID stuff...is there anything simpler/cheaper/better?

Shame though cos one of the reasons i love the zx is cos of the quality look the lights have on the car...

Pointless post of the day goes to SRRAE :D

The cheapest thing you can do is to buy a metre of silver baco foil and cover the inserts. Should only cost you about £15 and the labour is free. However, the finish is never perfect but the beam is increased by atleast 50%.

You could also try 100w bulbs or 130w, but bare in mind that they will not last very long.

They are the cheapest options.

IMO its not the foil that makes the lights so much better, its the fact that you clean the lenses while you're at it ;) The foil is not in the beam path so shouldn't make any difference....

I'm not getting in to this again, but from my personal experience, I've applied this fix to headlights in the past that have had virtually no dirt on the inside at all and have seen the virtually the same results. In fact, now that I come to think of it, I am still running baco foil on mine with 55w bulbs and the visability increase is much better than standard.

Robert, if you do a search on this subject, we absolutely murdered it last year. You should find a thread with around 100 posts. There are arguaments for and against in that thread.

How easy it is it to remove the complete head lights???

(Just clicked through on the 'Nice and Shiny' link....)

As mine is a daily driver Cos I wouldn't mind doing an exchange ;)

And yes bacofoil was an improvement on stock, don't ask me about it being under the beam etc, etc....all the negative points that were put across, I know it works for sure......why would I be doing it again but with Cos's upgrade if it didn't work last time (Chunk has my old upgraded Z).......:D

Well, if you've already got the bumper off it's a piece of piss! Otherwise you need to have a 'universal' joint transplanted onto your wrist in order to get to a couple of the bolts. Have plasters at the ready!

Oh, and Matty, if you have any pictures of your fitted ZCentre seat covers I know Luke is after some piccies for his site. :)

HID with Cos shiny bezels is the only way to go

100% CURE

Sweet as I shall try the foil option (if i ever get the motor)...

If i put some meat in there will it cook it too? Be good to go for a nice drive and come back with dinner ready for once

:D better bulbs.....and of course a set of lights from COS   :duffer: Job done.....;)
