my auto seems to slam itself into 2nd. 2nd to 3rd is smooth as silk but 1st to 2nd seem to have a slight delay then you get jerked forward when ut changes. this happens at all but slight acceleration.

If so disconnect the battery for 2 hours or so. That should reset it shouldn't it?

But it's well worth a try.

i did disconnect the battery for a week and no difference. maybe there a set routine you have to go thru to get the gearbox to work normally after a rest like on my old bmw auto. i had to redline it in 1st for a couple of secs then let it coast in gear back town to a stop and some other stuff.

 

if thats not it what am i looking at for a gearbox ecu. does anybody have one

Please post if this is the case. seams mine is doing that too, the other day was toeing it and when it got to 180KMH :rolleyes: it tried to change up again, then down then back uip then down until i slowed of a bit, first time i really booted it, but seam to have the same prob as mrogers from 1st to second :cry:

Mine does this all the time, revs right up to max in 1st and stays there for a second or two (while the other bloke your racing zooms past you) then it snatches like a goodun into 2nd and ya off. If I have done a long motorway thrash then come off at a junc to standstill and pull away again it is even worse. Must be the heat. I have an uprated auto tranny cooler on my wish list currently which I hope will help. Another chap suggests that I get it taken to a gearbox specialist for an overhaul. Will be interested to hear if you guys get it sorted with the change of gearbox ecu. (Never knew they had one!)

Try the auto-box diagnostics. That should tell you if you're having ECU or sensor problems. If it reports back OK then your problem is most likely mechanical.

done an ecu check and 10 short flashes. weird thing it i dont seem to have an at light. its my power light that comes on when i start and my power light that flahes the codes

Sounds like your ecu is ok- 10 flashes- all clear- looks like you're in the same boat as me, needing a gearbox overhaul :confused:

What was the outcome of this thread? I have the same problem.
