Shift Kit

I have a 91 NA 2+2 auto, had the trans rebuilt and a shift kit and new cooler added, heard from various trans places it is bad to shift kit Jap Z imports, is this true?

My car has sruges of power can this be trans related?

Maybe I'm being dumb, but what's a 'shift kit' do ?

As far as I can tell from my Trans, it has made the gear changes really sharp and quick, I am told it creates a greater pressure in the trans

Ahhhh

Little black box marked ALC? Or is this an internal valve recalibration upgrade?

OK, understand. I have the uprated line pressures on mine when I had the autobox rebuilt.

Is that the same as the short shift changer? ZCenter sells them dont they. 60 plus the old one back.

Short shifter on an auto box... Interesting concept Stuart biggrin.gif

Breed - if you had your tranny rebuilt, then either an ALC or uprated pressures is no problem at all.. The only time it can cause a problem (and it's rare, AFAIK) is on an old tired box (like mine! lol)..

Surges of power... Do the RPM's rise? Maybe TPS (throttle position sensor), or MAF (Mass Air Flow meter)...
