The rear anti-roll bar on my 92 UK recently snapped! (and I do mean the bar - not the link arms). This is despite not being very corroded ( - I saw someone else on this site suffered the same problem). Anyway, I just got a good 2nd hand one from AndyZ, which I have fitted, but I noticed it was slightly thinner than the original one (about 80% of the diameter of the original), but otherwise exactly the same.
Does anyone know the reason for the difference? The replacement probably came off an import, but a TT or N/A? Maybe all imports have the thinner Bar? Or, was the spec changed for the series 2? I am interested/concerned as to whether the TT needs a stronger and more rigid bar because of the HICAS or extra weight.
I doubt I will notice any difference, but but I may corner with more confidence if anyone can enlighten me!
