Club Sec/Chairman...IMPORTANT...so read!

Right, what is going on?

It has come to my attention that Mark Hanley has stepped down from his post as Club Sec and to be honest I am not impressed about this.

Mark has IMHO done a cracking job while he's been doing this role for this forum.

Can I also point out that also IMO there are some absolute free loaders doing a good impression of members of European Parliament in power on this forum.

Like for instance AndrewG, when was the last time he posted on this forum, where is his input? How did he get to where he is now as a member of the head honchos of this board?

P1ssed off with this, not gonna bleat on about being a share holder so you can can that MO FO attitude before you start...I have been a member of this board for eons when it was just a BB when Craig and Nico ran it so don't even start that sh1t with me!

Just think that people like Mark and Macca and AndyP are doing a sterling job of keeping this place alive, oh and that gay boy Groves who hosts the site in the first place! :) ;) Love ya Mike!

But it has come to my attention that Mark has been given a right load of sh1te and when you consider what the poor guy has to take on I think he's done a cracking job.

So can we please have some support for the people who do their best for this place instead of constant criticism all the time.

I would, personally, like to see support for Mark H...I don't wanna see him leave his position and would be more than happy to see him back where he belongs to be honest...hope you feel the same way.

I know that this is not a communist state type BB so please, if you have a problem with the H being club Sec voice it now, if not some encouragement to get him back would be appreciated I reckon.

Upto you! ;)

Well where do I start first I have to agree that Mark has done a sterling job for this club.

The man has done far more than people know about and will be sadley missed by me thats for sure,I have enjoyed working with Mark and it is a real shame he has stepped down as club Sec.

AndrewG does not post a great deal on here as he has a full time job and does not always have internet access, you got to remember Tim we all do this volantry.

The thing that really annoys me is that the people that go on about this share holder crap have made a few quid out of this place I can tell you.

Support for Mark to stay on? TOO RIGHT! I would really like to think he would stay on as I know he has given this place 100% and thats important IMHO!

Well I've never met AndrewG or even conversed with him on here so to me he doesn't exist! LOL :)

However, I have met Mark and had a damn good p1ss up with the guy. ROFL :)

Oh and before that I did meet Mark at Trax and he's a top bloke make no mistake.

Listen Iain, I know what you do, I speak to you every day mostly. AndyP I am a good friend of and although I don't speak to him on a daily basis I know what his involvement is with the forum. I know that Mike Groves hosts the site for us and to him I am grateful personally as I would probably speak for on behalf of the forum who would also appreciate what Mike does for us.

But can someone outline what the other members of the hirearchy actually do?

I'm not having a dig at anyone in particular but when I heard that Mark was jacking it in I was quite shocked to be honest as I know first hand what the guy does for this place and IMO his position is justified and he should stay as I can't really think of anyone else that I would rather appreciated doing what he does best.

Not being funny or anything, but when Craig and Nico ran this board over four years ago we all knew where we stood, so shouldn't it be fair that the members of the current system know who does what, where, why etc.

I don't like to keep bringing this up, but when I joined the MR2DC and to be honest for about the same money we pay to subscribe to this place you get a clear and defined approach as to who does what and why!

Surely we should be going the same way, so I couldn't care less if AndrewG is where he is, in my own mind I have never seen him do anything on here so why is he where he is? Justify his existence as a top member of this BB and I will be quite happy! ;) Oh and he is just my example, can we have a layout of who does what and why? Not too much to ask is it?

what is the reason mark is stepping down ? - i dont know

perhaps he has personal commitments and cant spare the time anymore. I agree that he has done a good job but i dont think he has put himself forward for re-election.

Regards,

alex

I fully agree with all of whats been said above. HOWEVER, as a non subscribed member I don't think I have a say in the matter :D

That'll be me going on about this "shareholder crap" then. Or maybe not as I certainly dont rank as having made "a few quid out of this place"

Strangely enough, I didnt suggest anyone step down, or imply that mark wasn't doing a sterling job, I asked for the same thing that Tim is asking for, information on the club, clarity on what is going on. And the reason I havent since posted on it? because its been happening!

We got a statement on the clubs stance on traders

we have members of the commitee being voted in

if a post is edited we get told by whom and for what reason and

we are told that a statement of accounts is due

Dont think any of the above is far removed from "a clear and defined approach as to who does what and why!"

I have been totally upfront with any comments I have made, never said anything off forum that wasnt said on , or in person to the person concerned.

But it has come to my attention that Mark has been given a right load of sh1te and when you consider what the poor guy has to take on I think he's done a cracking job.

Who from? Other committee members or club members?

its hard to clarify a role, id like to think i do more than just host the forum, i spent 4 hours coding the banner rotating scripts and 2weeks on the relaunch of the forum to vb3 plus many many hours a week sorting problems with the forum and members, reorganising sections so there is more clarity ect. Then there are commitee discussions.

I am a member of the MGOC, I do not believe myself to be a shareholder in this club as it is an annual subscription, I am a member for the benifits that the club gives me for being a member. I do not think any subscribed member can honestly say that we don't offer a broad range of services for the members, sure the welcome pack isn't 100% up to scratch yet, but your £20 can save you £100's on here.

AndrewG whilst not as outspoken as some of the commitee has my full backing, he has a sensible head. He has also sorted out most of the TOS, AUP and club related documentation that led to us becoming a proper club.

I do agree with Timmy though, I would like to see Mark carry on in his role, but he has now made up his mind.

Ok Jock as an example we all pay our £20 fees to keep this place up and running, that's what?4 packs of cigs.IMHO £20 is a joke of what people can get from this place.

Out of that we subscribed members can sell cars, second had parts etc look.............http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=31192

As shareholders are we entitled to a cut? NO because we are not shareholders we are a club.

Out of that we subscribed members can sell cars, second had parts etc look.............

That's the way it should to be, yes. However, anyone seems to be allowed to sell cars, second hand parts etc.........

Dave my job is to stop traders from selling free of charge,If you don't think we should allow non subscribed to sell complete cars then lets have a poll TBH you would get my vote on it.

Mac, I have never had an issue with the 20 quid, have always said it is a pittance to keep this forum going. I have sold bits off my car, there for everyone to see (but as it was my car, not strictly making any money out of the club) but I am glad it was here for me to use.And personally I like to think that everyone who got stuff off my car, got a benefit of being a member here, as if I was selling it else where then most, if not all, the parts would have been a damn site more expensive.

So I think that I do contribute to the club spirit, in that, and in the help and advice that I give openly and freeely in as far as I am able, and thanks to this club and the people in it that ability is on the increase.

But, there were issues with the club, and I voiced my concern. As you and I have discussed, there is no point bleating about an issue, you go to the source and you get it sorted, less bad feeling all round.

Something a bit like this? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=18596

Quite possibly the choice of words "shareholder" was ill advised, I was simply trying to say that I feel we all have an investment in the forum whether that be time, money or whatever and are all interested inthe well being of the forum, it is, amongst other things, a fantastic resource and a great bunch of guys who seem to have more in common than simply driving the same car. But if we are not allowed to voice opinions other than the commonly held, then the forum will become stagnant, rather than the vibrant and entertaining place it was when I first joined. You only need to read through a selection of posts to see that.

Who said we are not allowed to voice opinions? We have a couple of moaners but hey we get that in all walks of life.

Well the post that all the "shareholder" stuff comes from, got me flack from all angles, people got accused of feeding me information, having private agendas, stirring up trouble, all sorts of shennanigans. And that was just one post. I dont let that sort of thing phase me, cos as said, I say what I mean to the person I want to say it to. But if another member read that, are they going to speak up about their concerns?

Presumably the difference between someone with opinions and a 'moaner' is that the moaner has different opinions to you? ;)

Really Dave what opinion do you have different to me?

Oh Dear you see how things get out of hand and get blown all out of proportion?:(

Trying to stay on topic on Mark steping down are you putting your name forward to replace him?

I didn't say there was one, unless you're saying I'm one of the moaners!

I'm very hurt.

My original question still stands though - where has Mark been getting loads of "sh1te" from?

I am sure Mark will post about it Dave:D;)

I agree with what has been said about Mark "Topless" Hanley - he has done a great job as club secretary and I wish he would re-consider his decision to leave.

Jock, I've been reading your posts regarding club affairs over the past couple of months with interest. Felt I had to post and say you're bang on the money mate with your ideas. It's not good news that Mark is stepping down but if you step up to the plate I'll definately be voting for you. Good work fella.

I havent put my name forward, though it has been mentioned to me by a few people. If, as seems to be the case, Mark has made his decision to go, and there is a vote, I may well do and let the votes decide. That is of course no comment on mark, or the job he has done.
