Thanks Nick,I know I wont ever smoke again thats for sure.

Thanks Nick,I know I wont ever smoke again thats for sure.

I lost my dear mum to lung cancer 4 years ago and my dad suffered a stroke and ultimately a heart attack and died 9 years ago. Both were as a result of smoking: FACT!!!

If you ever doubt this, just go into one of the cancer treatment wards at Glenfield Hospital where my mum spent her last months and see the state of the people, the noises they make, the congealed blobs of shite they cough up and the look on their faces. If they had their chance again, they wouldn't smoke!! :nono:

Since my best mate gave up, his health has improved enormously. He has more energy, he doesn't smell of fags, nor does his car, his house or his kids.

Best thing you'll ever do MACCA, keep at it!!!

:smw:

Here Here...bruiser......:)

Yeah keep at it mac, I gave up a few months b4 u and I only now smoke when I go out, its a social thing for me. I dont go out as often as I used to, I think I have only been out 5 times this year (All time low for me) but as I am gettin older, 27 almost, it doesnt bother me anymore, so the connection isnt as strong for me.........

Feel sh1t today but I will be fine tomorrow and I know I will have a few cravings during the week, but you have to think long term......

Well done mate and keep up the effort.......its one of those things u cant appreciate cus nothing happens......

Mac, I've just had a thought...

...as long as you're not smoking on the overrun or at warm idle you're probably OK. :D

congrats on giving up - NEVER start again - u WILL regret it.

Health affecting issues aside, having something so little that has such a massive hold over you means I can't really see the point of smoking.

I think that the arguments of there are many things that can kill you are invalid, most people arn't addicted to the things that kill them, and most of the time they arnt goverment sponsored. What are the benifits of smoking? If you had not started smoking how would your life have been worse?

you might ask the same questions of someone who doesnt feel right if he doesnt have his bevy on a saturday night? SOme one who comes in after a hard day and is gasping for a beer? such a small thing to me, as I dont feel the need for it.
