Any major brand is good. Just stay away from the budget stuff.

Bridgestone, and toyos seem to the favoured ones around here! Also, there is a tyre supplier who gives paying members a discount so join up :D

Bridgestone,

Toyo,

Goodyear,

Are the ones people seem to go for.

I have had Falken, Bridgstone and Goodrich. Bridgestone but the other 2 are also very good and a but cheaper than the Bridgestone.

IF you are on a budget then I've found the KUMHO Ecsta trye to be good value

If you're on a budget then you shouldn't be driving a Zed LMFAO :D

OI! why pay more for tyres if they only last 5000 miles! at £65 a tyre fitted, I'm pleased with them!

And when can I come round and get that hatch off you!!!

:D:D:D LOL

Erm, whens good for you m8? Had a few probs at home recently but life is now good so LMK ;)

After a lot of research i choose Firestone tyres because:

They use a relatively hard compound rubber so they have a long life.

They use a more traditional (conservative) tread pattern which resists un-even wear.

They work well in the rain - useful for when i get back to the UK.

They were not the cheapest by any means, somewhere in the middle, but the right compromise for me.

Have a good look at http://www.tirerack.com it has loads of information about tyres. Good place to start.

what tyre was the Z32 designed on?

i LIVE by Bridgestone S02's on mine, tried a few different top names, but these things just grip, even if you only get a set on the rear and go a bit cheaper on the front (yes they are DEAR!), totally transforms the car

I've said it before and i'll say it again..........

Goodyear F1's

Not the cheapest but a fuggin excellent tyre

Rich

PS....I use southam tyres :)

Black, round ones :D

I've got Ventus (made by Hankook) K104s on. I have found them to be excellent and as long as you are not too heavy in the wet they keep you on the road. Slight understeer when it's greasy but that's due to weight.

I get them fitted for £75 a tyre.

They originally came with Bridgestones.

In 100,000 miles I've gone through a few sets and even replaced one set the day after buying them because they were cr@p.

I've Tryed Perrellis, Yokohomas, Avons Mitchelin Pilots, Bridgestone So2's and So3's and always go back to Bridgestone So2's. They will transform your car and they last longer than most. Everyone tell you this tyre's best etc so I've tried a few. So2's for me they're the best for feed back and grip, wet or dry and I drive like a hoare.

hi all as were on the subject can anyone give me some info...

my rear tyre sizes currently are 255/40/17 im about to order some F1s should i stick with this profile or change diameter etc :) :) thanks greg

I recently fitted a full set of Pirelli 7000 to my zed - very pleased, good grip and supple ride. Paid £700 for 19's 235f/265rear. So standard sizes should be cheaper. Got them from National Tyres which worked out cheaper than Mytyres internet site.

Before that I had Toyo Proxies but I think the Pirellis are a better ride.

Geoff.

I have F1's all round and have to agree with the Bridgestone boys here; The SO2's i had before were the best for grip, that is untill they wear low then they lose grip - harder base compound.

I've heard quite a few people say that Bridgestone's are nice and progressive, so you get a bit of warning before it all goes horribly wrong...

Honestly I can drive my car almost as hard in the wet as I can in the dry. The S03's have the edge in the dry ("just", and still better than anything other than the S02 in the wet) but the S02 is king in the rain. The only time you'll loose it in the dry is when you want to. In the wet its like driving a car with 180 BHP not 350+. You ajust to the conditions there isn't any big moments. Like I say I've had 100,000 experience about 60% on Bridgestones out of choice. There the best all round.

Yokahoma's are the best Dry tyre I think, but well scarey in the rain.

Avons are just scarey

Dunlop Sports should be banned from existance and make Avons look good. I put a set on the car on the Tyre fitters recomendation that they were brilliant

the next day I took em off and put S002's on.

Pirrelli's and Pilots are on parr and need some heat into them before they work well. Not bad tyre and good ride but not in Bridgestone leauge for grip and ride.

Ventura K104 sport are cheep and offer reasonable grip wet and dry but shit ride quality and easy to unsettle car.

GOt to be Bridgestone. S02 is now a Porshe standard fittment.

Are they doing S02s again then? I thought they'd been replaced by S03s.

I have to agree with the Bridgestone comments. I've had S02s and S03s and both are excellent.

Cut and paste all that into the FAQ section my boy... good work!

Bridgestone S02 also standard on the RX8. :hyper:

Um Goodyear eagle F1's are great, Dunlop Sports came on my astra coupe, they lasted ages but the grip was not great. Walni made by yoko are not bad though.
