My kit should be arriving tomorrow.

Doubt that it'll be that simple to copy cheaply.

would you be able to post a pic up mate, the hinge it self should be easy enough to make up its the rams that will cost

I have some close up pics of a lambo hinge setup on a Z some where around I will have a looksie and see if I can find em...If I do I'll post em up..

  • 2 weeks later...

Is that specifically for a Z or is it a universal one ???

It's bolt-on for various Honda cars, that's why it it needs modding for the Zed.

This is the kit that Cappuccinosport sells for £999.

Are you happy with it and have you fitted it yet ????

The short is No and No.

The actual kit is well made but I'm annoyed that it needs

modifying as I bought on the understanding that it

is supposed to be 'Bolt-on'.

I don't have welding facilities so would need to pay

someone to do that for me.

Did you buy it from Paul @ knightsbridge?

Ahh yet another "Bolt On" that needs a fabrication shop, a mechanic and and engineer to "Bolt On". Should be a law against it.

There is, it's called the "Trade Descriptions Act".

Items must be "as described" and "suitable for the purpose for which they were intended".

I met up with Paul "knightsbridge" ages ago bout the kit. He said there are 2 kits available the latter one just having a stronger damper. He showed me how to fit them simply by bolting on the kit. Once the door is removed you DO need to shave a fraction of the inner wing off (inner being the part you can see behind the original door hinge). This can be done without removing the wing itself. The reason I asked this was because both my bumper and wings are NON removable. This kit was ideal for me. You do however have to remove the AIV tanks ;) .

The kits are indeed universal, the brackets come with out holes drilled in them. If you know how to drill a hole then your on your way. All bolt can be accessed from under the wing, you will save alot of time by removing the wing though :p

Cost

1-9 Kits supplied only £1000 each

10 upwards, we are just confirming with the US suppliers (probably save £80)

Fitting

Paul will fit any kit to any car inc all labour necessary for adaptation for £500The kit stated above is the same kit as fitted to his Z is FASTCAR this month.

Paul has more kits coming in shortly so give him a ring on 01773 602837 and mention your from the 300zx.co.uk club. Also mention my name as Iam trying to get the price down further :D .

Good luck

Had mine from Cappuccinosport.

Paul bought an undrilled kit. He made his own spacers and had to

cut part of the hinge. He kindly sent me pictures showing how it

was done.

You do need the wing off.

I will post some pics up a bit later on of the actual kit Paul supplies

I believe there is someone selling kits on Ebay, I have been told to stay away from these as they are designed solely for Honda :nono:

Ye he said he sent you some pics. He did also say that you can do it with the wing on if you are able to remove the AIV's and file down a metal lug which is also in the way. For £500 though it is probaly worth having Paul's team fit them as they also provide and install the spacers. Either way this kit is a mod, so teething probs are expected ;)

Simmo303, thanks for letting us all know who you got the kit from it'll save the rest of the club from buying the incorrect kit from Cappuchinosport...

Ouch! :slap:

Dont stop maufacturers of car parts and computers from totaly ignoring it though does it.

Dave that last post wasn't mean't to be offensive I am sure if any of us were unhappy with any product the best thing to do is let all of the other members know not to buy from that supplier, it's called lookin' after each other.

If I bought something and I wasn't happy I wouldn't be upset if people thanked me for the info I'd be glad to see my fellow Zedders not getting ripped off, but I can tell you I would get my £££ back from Cappuchino even if I had to Beat the livin' crap outta them to get my ££ back.

Solved it.

Sold the kit to a Honda owner and getting undrilled kit from

cappuccinosport.com

Dany Gagnon will give a you discount of £50 off current price

if you mention my name. Simon Mountford.

Japcity Ltd will be doing the Lambo door kits for £2500 fitted inc VAT.

Hopefully when the administrators add my business to the Traders Forum, I will be able to add all the services that will be available from JAPCITY.

If anybody is interested I can start booking work in for the Lambo doors, with a fitment date of two weeks time.

Leigh.

fook me thats inflation for you, am positive these started off at £800 fitted!!

Far too much!

Current price at cappuccinosport is £999 (less the special discount of £50.)

Any competant mechanic can fit them.
