one example= was at a club last night and the dj starts going through the england players asking who everyone thought was a ****er....beckham got the most abuse, along with gary neville who didnt put a foot wrong IIRC, whereas gerrard, who pretty much cost us the game against france was being cheered...cant help but think beckham gets abuse from his united days regardless of his form! plus all the papers wrote about beckham too, i cant believe you think beckham isnt 'aloud to be slagged' lol

he is the current captain of england, and did not play well AT ALL, he obviously wasn't fit, so along with the good he has to take the bad, do you reckon he is at THIS MOMENT worrying about OUR opinions?, at the moment he is getting ready for a holiday to the south of france, i REALLY feel sorry for him, his life style is paid for by football and all the good stuff, some fans used their life savings to travel to see england and hoped to see them win the trophy, so he has to take some flak (along with the other players)

 

if it gets to him i'm sure he can go out in his bentley/ferrari, or go and buy himself a private island, has everyone else got the same options to get away from it??

lol one of the most laughable things was becks got annoyed at posh 'cos she wanted to rent a private villa instead of staying with the other wives, now i bet that villa cost more than the likes of christies spend in a year on kids treatments, so symphathy ummmmm NO

i feel its pathetic how fickle a lot of england supporters are...most england fans were singing his praises when he was consistently playing well for england and had a major contribution in us qualifying (isnt that the same period of performances that got him the name goldenballs). now he, along with a lot of other people, caused us to go out and he's a complete **** and shouldnt even be captain.

 

the stupid way we build the team up and probably over rate their chances is our (and the poxy media's) fault...when the team dont live up to what we expect we always seem to want a scape goat, even though the players will clearly be capable of again playing to the standard that made us expect from them.

 

and as far as the money issue, i agree players are payed stupid amounts, but that cant be used as an argument why its acceptable to put so much blame on him for us being knocked out. i dont see how you can say its a "bit of flak"...as you say, some people have used their life savings to go to portugal only to see england get knocked out and to be the person held responsible for that is serious...just look at how much abuse he got for being sent off against argentina for which he was also blamed. and its not a few club goers, that was one example, pretty much everyone you talk to has gone from respecting him to thinking hes a worthless piece of shit.
