That' the 3rd penalty that Becks has missed now. 1st was when they played Turkey when a big patch of grass disappeared when he planted his standing foot, then there was the one that boldy saved and then last nights.

 

Is he loosing it? or just having a bad spell?

There's a guy at work who recorded the match and played it back and forth a few times in slow mo(arti farti video apparently), and he says that because the ground was so soft, when Beckham put his left foot down, the penalty spot went up slightly, hence the spoon!

 

Has anyone here recorded it? Maybe we could get a close up on it.

Got to respect Becks, Owen (who's missed a few this year) and all of them for having the balls to stand up and take one, instead of wanting to be last on the list. As a nation we always look for someone to blame, fortunatley this time there's the ref as a target instead of the players who tried hard and had the balls to step up to the challenge with a nation's hopes on their shoulders... regardless of how bad we played.

 

I think Becks lashed at the ball, but the ball actually sprung up in the air when he planted his standing foot, and it being the first penalty he was the one who found out the spot was cr4p the hard way!
