agree entriely chris...played very poorly in the second half (long ball with people of owen's and vassell's hights is stupid) and our midfield is capable of so much more but bottom line is that we scored a legitimate goal and should have been through.

 

though i feel the truth is that we bottled it lastnight and against france...when we played to our strengths and attacked we were worthy matches for both teams but in the second half of both games we just tried long ball and thats never gonna work.

 

also think its a bit rediculous that some papers dont seem to have the b******s to say that the ref was s**t and would rather try and blame everything on beckhams penalty miss!

He blew for a foul before the ball was in the net, either because Terry's arm impeded the keeper or a push by Campbell (saw the Terry infringment on thr TV but not seen the Campbell push yet as I've been too busy pishing myself laughing). People criticised Owen and de Beckham but they came through, David Beckham admitted that he was letting the other top guys take the centre stage for a change. Ok Becks played cr@p but the Team have never looked like a team since Ericson took over. If you think about it the 5 -1 win over Germany was still Hoddles Team and team line up playing Hoddles Tactics. Since then Sven had just collected a group of players who are proberbly the best we've got and then insists on playing them all out of position. The team just loks unbalanced.

 

I watched quite a few of the Real Madrid games this season and Becks has been unbelievably brilliant in mid field, winning 4 La Leaga player or the months so why play him on the right when we have the likes of Kieron Dyer to do that. Then play lampard in a holding position instead of the link man between mid field and the strikers. You could go on all day.

Got to agree and it is so much easier to watch when your team arn't playing. I fancied the Cez's to go all the way because the looked the best team of the tournement, but fair play to Greece they just hadn't read the script. They look rock solid at the back and fair in the middle of the park but were are the goals going to come from. Anyway they've done it once lets see if it was a flook. I hope not. Come on Greece (shouln't have done that they're bound to loose now)

I wonder if Greece have a secret strategy to make other teams play crap.
