yes but we were poo in the second half... we did it againts brazil last world cup, japan, and france, you cant defend a 1 goal lead for 80% of the match with the other team having a posession of what must have been 75% to 25%

Ive seen boxing matches that are fixed with refs better than that.

 

Thats 3 times we've been shafted by refs.

probably bitter due to the fact we stuffed the swiss cheese :rolleyes: rooney injury in my opinion was the key to us having no control upfront and a lathargic midfield let us down but the spirit to come back in xtime was good.But its all but nothing now

At the end of the day too many big name players went missing on the night.

I personally think that Beckham and Sven should step down. If u look at Sven's record as a manager he has fallen at the first hurdle far too many times!!! as for the midfield, well shouldn't have brought on Phil Neville should have brought on Joe cole to liven things up a bit. But this is what happens when u play one system for too long in a run up to a major competition and then change back to another. we certainly don't have the caliber of players to even think about playing a diamond formation. Anyway if we were going to put long balls up the pitch we should have brought on the donkey rather than vassell. at least he is over 5'5"! then he could have played it on to owen and away u go.

That's the worst collection of contraversial decisions I have EVER seen. It reminded me of Mexico '86 - The hand of God and all that. Let's face it - The reason he was such a w@nker is because if the "officials" aren't British they just don't want us to win anything - remember last year's Eurovision. I just think we're always gonna be F*cked in Europe by these tw@ts who are supposed to be impartial. OK we were pretty crap on the night but that's probably a lot to do with having 24hrs less recovery time than the opposition from the group matches. Beckham wasn't up to much and should have been subbed. I can't bear to watch the rest of it now - often the side who knocks us out goes on to win. The only people smiling around here are the Welsh! When will they introduce live feedback to the ref! This is turning in to a f*cking joke.

 

For important decisions like that, all it take is to have a 3 officials looked away watching the game on tv and to offer a proper decision when there is uncertainty. They do it in Rugby, why not football?

I totally agree, it's about time they did this.

The linesman flagged it as a goal but the Ref said no when he was nowhere near the incident.

If this was motorsport the result would have been overturned after viewing the video and we would be through!

Something should have been done about the penalty spot when they had already complained about it at the other end in practice.

All the people saying it's the same for all the players so it didn't make a difference is rubbish. Beckham was the first to go and his left foot sunk in the sand. The other players saw it happen and stamped it down firm.

We were the guinea pig for the shite pitch!

 

Both these things along with Rooney going off cost us the match.

I know we didn't play great but we put the ball in the net more than they did.

Why do we always go out on stupid decisions and penalties?!?!
