New Noise Any Help Plz!

Hi guys removed centre console to re-trim it and disturbed the rubber gator surrounding the gear shift on my manual gearbox.

 

And i noticed when accelarating i get a whooshing noise right up to 3rd gear but if i press down on the gator it disapears is this normal and how can i cure it thanks.

 

does air pass through the gearbox tunnel normally :confused:

    Hi Greg,

     

    Underneath the leather gator is a rubber boot mount, if that has come off you will get road noise through there. Have a look here, picture 6 - http://www.ttzd.com/tech/bushingstech.html
