Strosek wide arch beast!!!

Ok so not many of you guys have this kit,But does it handle better or worse than a standard arch Z

The arches ain't gona make much differance, but by moving the rear wheels out 2",what does it handle like???

I think large spacers are needed to move the rear wheels out and I wouldn't like to put them on my Z and run 300+bhp throught the wheels.

Also, IMO it's not worth the cost. Why bother?

Steve

I would assume that the aim is to fit larger wheels, not to have a bodykit with wide arches and then have to use spacers on smaller wheels. Find out what Johnny has done to the green beastie.

the wider body calls for wider tires, giving more traction, and helps produce more control, it handles better but makes it a lil harder to make tighter turns, my friend's got the ab-flug wide body kit on his 300zx, it's great for drags, but cuts performance off the tracks, it also helps to control your power, like with most 300zx's people have a hard time starting the car without spinning out, this will help correct the problem.

Who mentioned wider tyres giving more torque?

Yeah, I just read through it again and thought the same thing?

kszx mentioned more traction, not torque!

Duuuuu

sorry read last post!!!

Steve E you have got two choices on wheels,There is no one piece wheel that provide the correct offset so you need to use spacers.

There are some three piece wheels that do so bolt straight on!

Regarding spacers I do know of a 300zx what has 600bhp+ and uses these so they can't be all that bad surely!

and what 300 would that be mac1 ?

Hmm! Does this 600bhp Z happen to be pearl white? smile.gif

If it is then I don't think it has covered enough miles to put the spacers to the test......it's always sitting outside SE.

How does the wider track effect the hicas and suspension?

IMO I wouldn't have spacers, I would get the wheels with correct offset instead smile.gif smile.gif

300z everyone knows this beast it's kind'a white!!!

Steve E you are quite right I would also get correct offset!

But I think Johnny grasshopper man has these spacers,And we all know how he can drive.

The Strosek site has the offsets noted for both the standard and wide arches. The 3 piece wheels are Oz Futura III, from memory, but I do not believe they are made anymore?

The picture at the top are Antera (143?) one piece, requiring spacers I think, and again this wheel is no longer available from the manufacturer/distributor?

*** Or is there a supply of either anywhere? ***

Sounds to me like you guyZ are on about Andy what's his names Stillen monster. That has the same wheels as Johnny...BlitZ Z1's and when you see how much those wheels cost EACH!!! I think they'll survive well onto a good 1K large BHP no probs at all. Want some, can't have some, too fookin' expensive!

That Stillen 600+ beast is my dream Z!! LARGE!!

Geoff Luke at zcentre does a wheel with correct offset around £550 ish.

Timmy mate that z is also my dream but it want's to be for over 50k!!!

Is it true that all these wings and things wipe at least 10mph off the top speed?

Doesnt larger wheels mean less traction in the wet, cos there is less pressure of the tyres on the road? Its difficult enough to drive in the wet anyways, without having extra problems
