Went to the South of France last month, near Perpignan. Got the ferry over, drove down in the Zed. Here's some highlights:

EXTREMELY narrow road along side a Gorge:

And from the rear (stay up rocks please!!!):

The Gorge (spot the Zed!): hols3small.jpg

Up a mountain in the Massiv Central:

Buy wine! (Brought back about 70 bottles)

Left with 4mm of tread all round, when we got back, the rears looked like this:

Then I gave her a good clean, new tyres, oil change. Well done Zed!

2000 MILES! No problems AT ALL! Top speed, hmm about 110 on the way back to the ferry. Max miles per tank 315! I was on fumes!!!

And the French loved the Zed!! Thumbs up all over the place.

Great continental cruiser, surprisigly practical and looks the dogs! Zeds rule!

Errm, yep new but Old wheels. Put the old ones back on after I went to the tyre place and they asked why I was using 6.5 inch rims with 245 tyres! Done 30000 miles in it, 3 new sets over that time and no other tyre place noticed. Then neither did I! The BBS ones came on the car, lucky the bloke gave me the original UK ones.

i see

Lovely pics

Reminds me of when I when down south in my old red Mk1 2.0 Cav. It didnt get on to well with the hills  had to stop and let let her cool down every two miles. I done Marseille, St Tropez, Cannes and then back over the Napolean pass. Think I'll have to do it in my zed, once I've done everything that needs doing to her.

Anyway well done zed- 2000 miles- good old nissan reliability!

Did a similar trip 5 years ago in my S13 200sx. That was great too - 2 tents in the back (small one for stop offs and a 6 man for whan we got there) and 100+ bottles of wine by the time we reached Calais on the way back.

Bloomin expensive holiday to do though. This one was about 300 quid for the ferry (Plymouth-Roscoff) about 500 quid in fuel, plus a gite for a week and accom on the way. Not to mention 400 quid for tyres when we got back. Adding it up, could have easily got 2 weeks all inclusive in the Caribbean! Wouldn't have had the Zed though.

Yep, great pics mate

That first one under the cliff could be a 300ZX advertising poster

Shows red is the best colour too....... ;) (From the book 300ZX Enthusiast's companion - ".....the designer's choice as the most appropriate colour.....")

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It's an interesting point actually and one that I haven't really sat down and compaired with other cars. Considering the size of the Z's engine and the amount of heat it produces, the rad is quite puney really. The radiator on my Rover is not that much smaller and I have never ever EVER seen it budge past half way. I think the uprated rads (MAC1 - SWM1) are an excellent upgrade.
