What is it?

Behind the map lights is a small fan or gyro attached to what looks like a thermistor. What is it for? I've unplugged it and it doesn't seem to affected anything. Is it just extra fan for cooling the interior?

    Tried to repair the unit but it's still noisy. Can i just rip it off cos i never use the air-con anyway.

    It basically tells the system the upper air temperature and directs the air accordingley.

    Not sure if it really makes much difference as long as the sensor itself is still there.
