vibration !

Just got my first zed and what can i say fell in love with it.

Have a slight problem, when i hit around 100kph i am getting a vibration from what seems like the front passenger side, someone suggested it may be the shock but anyone got any ideas how i can check this before i take it to a garage and get ripped off ? thanks

I can't see how a shock would cause vibration, and if it was gone you'd notice the ride was 'wobbly' over bumps. It's more likely to be something out of balance, or a wheel bearing. Does the vibration go away under braking or get worse round corners?

Prop shaft centre bearings are known to fail easily on Z's and cause vibration at speed.

If it's from the front then I would rule out propshaft bearings.

Could be wheel bearings, wheel balance or tension rod bushes.

Only at high speeds or when braking ?

Can you drive through it ?. If yes then I would say wheel balancing.

Could just be the donut ring on the prop. My mates needs a new one and that vibrates at around 85mph +

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies, i dont seem to be able to drive through it, it just stays there after 80kph, it doesnt get worse when braking, seems to go as soon as i drop below 80 and no vibration when i go round corners. Not sure if i shoudl take it into a decent local garage ?

forgot to add, seems to be pulling slightly to the left as i am driving it. Anyone know any decent garages in Essex that wont rip me off. thanks again guys

I would suggest getting your wheels balanced and a proper 4 wheel alignment
