hi guys, not meant to be a dig or anything, but why is it that you guys have a superior V6 engine to the RB26-DETT and have trouble/have to spend so much money to get anything close to the Skyline? ;)

This JUN top speed Z32, what was the spec of it? I take it did use the V6?

 

yes it used the stock engine - probably bored out a little with everything uopgraded of course - but plain old stock block got it to 262 MPH.

I love my Z, I wouldn't change it for any other car, but at the same time, I'm under no illusions as to what class it belongs in.

FFS this is rediculous :rolleyes: The Zed was never a supercar and never will be! FACT! Any car that comes out of Japan will never be a supercar!!! A 300ZX Z32 is a GT plain as.... end of...

 

The car is simply too refined to be a supercar - get over it :rolleyes: Carpets, Aircon, Stereo, heavy plastic trim covering everything, SPORTS suspension (NOT racing), the list goes on and on. There is no definition of what it takes for a car to be a supercar but there are things which make a car NOT a supercar - and sorry guys but the Z just has far too many.

 

YES it CAN be made to have supercar performance, but once again, sorry, that doesn't even make that a supercar. I love my Z, I wouldn't change it for any other car, but at the same time, I'm under no illusions as to what class it belongs in.

Nah ur talkin shite bud! The Z is too refined to be a supercar - end of story. I'll tell you what, if you REALLY want to think you own a supercar, then fine, think what you want, but don't go preaching about it cos you'll get shot down everytime... Even a Ferrari badge, lambo badge, porsche badge does not make every car they make a supercar - they also make GTs, most of which would seriously outperform a Z32...

Errr.....no mate, that's a KIT car. It's a nasty little refugee from a track with lights on it (a la Noble, Westfield and those bike engined things) Very nice, but still don't make the grade IMHO

Seems like you want to get the Z into 'supercar' status, Ok, but then there will have to be classes for Hyper Cars, Really Hyper Cars, and "OMFG where's Schumy to drive this thing for me!! cars" :tongue:

Because, as I see it, it is a criterior that must be met before entrance into the 'Super car club'. As Pete mentioned there are only about 8-10 cars manufactured in the world that can really crack it with no mods or special preparation.

 

If it helps, instead of the word Super car, think of the word Premiership.

Look, the argument is (or rather has developed into) is the Z a supercar? The answer is NO! it's a bloody fantastic go-faster turbo charged Jap GT.
