Sorted a few little problems out, but best of all sorted my bad running prob :D

Following this thread, Acceleration Problem , Ive taken the the advise of andyduff, and checked out the PTU connectors, which looked like this,

And the PTU itself,

attachment.php?attachmentid=4658&stc=1

And given them a good clean up, also checked the coil pack connectors, and they were perfect, no corrosion at all, clean as a whistle :D

It's working fine now, except for the cat light comming on if I floor it for too long, but not too worried about this, as I'm going to have my ecu chipped to get rid of the limiter, and will see from there.

Good advise, thanks very much Andy :bow: :duffer: :dance:

you should be conerned if your cat is overheating, for 1 is will destroy the cat and that will cause a serious bottleneck in the exhaust system, also it means your AFR is wrong, most of the time it indicates a misfire and the unburnt fuel is igniting in the cat.

Thanks for that Clarkey, let me explain a little more;

If I slam my foot to the floor, and keep it there, the cat light will come on after approx 10 - 15 seconds of full power. Once I let my foot ease off, and once they have cooled sufficientley, the light goes off and stays off untill I do it again. But if I just accelerate gentley, or without flooring it completeley, this doesn't happen.

AFR? I take it it means Air Flow Rate? Is this adjustable? What could I do. This was put on TonyC's ConZult at the last Midlands meet, and everything checked out OK. This was while I was having all the problems, but didnt show up on the test, but then it runs fine when it's not being floored.

PS - Glad you like the phone button :D

Air:Fuel ratio i meant, too ruch means unburnt fuel burns in the exhaust causing the cat to overheat, and iirc too lean causes excessively high exhaust gas temperature. Get it checked out on a conZult, its probably just an incorrect sensor reading.

oh and yeah the phone thing is cool, shame i dont have a cam.

I'll see if anyone is going to JAPS in two weeks time, that has a ConZult :D or failing that it'll have to wait till JAE. Like I said not too concerned as it only happends when I floor it, and it wont be used like that much over the next few weeks anyway.

I assume your phone looks somthing like this now :D,

nah mine is a 6210, the tab things are interchangable though, looks pretty similar though :)
