aiv's gurgling!!

if I follow the pipe that leads off the downpipes just b4 where the cat would be they go up behind the wheel arch liner with a small metal pipe bent at a right angle- is this the AIV pipe? and if so, if i drill a hole in it will it stop gurgling?

 

btw the car has been de-catted and just has 2 backboxes

    cheers guys, think I might attempt removal of these this afternoon - anybody know what size "bung" I need for the open end of the pipe??
