Recently i've noticed that my car has been feeling very slow. It runs fine, no cutting out and i'm also getting full boost when i accelerate. I feels as if the engine is holding back, but there is no mis-fire or any smoke of any sort. I did a quick, rough count of my 0-60 time on the way home from work and i got to 7 seconds before i hit sixty! :(. Also things like before, when i accelerated hard the wheels span in first, second and sometimes third, now they don't even spin in first!

Ecu diag reads 55 so all clear there and i haven't found any boost leaks or any split pipes that i can see.

The only thing i've noticed is a buzzing from the passenger side of the car but i think my speaker might be goosed.

Any ideas would be apprciated.

Have you done a proper boost leak check or have you just visually looked for leaks.?

Visual, unfortuantly i'm lacking any real test equipment for the zed. If there was a boost leak would it not hit full boost and then start dropping off? Also would i not hear something maybe?

Have you got a cat back zorst,if so could be the problem(knackerd cat).

Fuel pump may be on its way out - hence the buzzing noise ;) Its in the boot under the metal cover plate under the spare wheel...

i ain't got any cats(or dogs), but i've got silencer's so i'll check that out.

Duffman, what should be the normal resistance for the pump? I'll check that out as well. If it was the pump wouldn't the engine run sh1te cos it wasn't getting enough petrol- mis-fire, hesitation etc? Mine's really smooth, it just doesn't accelerate!

Can the fuel pump be re conditioned as mine 'buzzes' a little

Might explain a sudden power loss the other day, fine up to 100 ish and a bit wobbly after that!

could also be air mass sensor, they can often give a feeling of holding back & make the car generally feel "flat"

fairly easy to swap over to test, esp if you have an aftermarket cone air filter

ok, that rules that out :D

fuel pumps are usually tested for currant draw, pressure & flow. might be worth testing those next.

Have you checked your timing? Mine felt a bit slow until I redid the timing, and I'm back to rocketship again :hyper:

Been looking around the car for things wrong and i'm 99% sure i haven't got a boost leak. Deffo sure it's not the MAS. Was gonna check the fuel pump and now my meter has decided that the world has a resistance of 1.32ohms. Every blade of grass and even a brick has this resistance! So i thought i'd check my timing....find out my brother has the gun in Yeovil, so i'm off to get pi$$ed instead!

I just want to make sure, if it was engine internals, there would be oil/smoke and more obvious signs?
