feel for you matey, god i love this country..

Going a bit off topic, when i was in spain for new year i noticed a load of people wearing england shirts.. and i got thinking to myself, if england is so good, wtf are you doing in spain for new year!!!!

People are starting to get pissed about this place, me for one, speed cameras dont help!!

Sorry to hear it mate.

I'm waitin to see if a couple of my "adventures" are going to cost me. I'm sure I saw the omminous flash last week. :(

Sh*t! Sorry to hear it too Dave.

Are you up on the system?

Assuming the nip came 1st class post atleast, you could respond asking for the photos as you're not sure who was driving at the time.

Or, file it in the bin to which they may send a reminder. If you get no reminder, they may then send your papers to the court within six months of the offence date and the summons will be issued just after. You could then delay it more by asking for photos.

If you havn't heard from them after seven months or so then they havn't bothered following it up as its such a pissy offence.

IMO too many ppl just pay the fine and accept the points.

Cheers,

sorry to hear mate, I got busted this year too! somethings got to be sorted its getting a joke

Has to be proved beyond all reasonable doubt at a court as to the id of the driver so if you can cast any shadow of doubt as to id of driver then do so

i.e. you were with the wife at the time and took turns in driving so cannot be sure as to who it was, can you get the photographs to help you id the driver...the registered keeper must provide 'with all diligence' the identity of the driver so if you show u r making the effort without actually doing anythiny you will probably get away with it! You would of course have to be prepared to take your chances at a court if necessary.

Whatever you do, dont ignore it.

Splatt, trouble is so many ppl are now saying it may have been the wife driving, that while it's a good delaying tactic in slowing the whole scamera process down, it's very rare that it will actually get you off. They want your money badly and will expect either man or wife to take the fine and points.

On the other hand, ignoring the nip does give you atleast some chance.

They're usually not sent recorded delivery after all.

Worse case scenario - Failure to supply - fine and 3 points.

There is (and still are a few ways past this)

PM me with the circumstances (no bull ) and I will 'assist' where I can

If you dont tell me the truth I cant help.

Lets say I have a vast amount of experience' in this!

Can i just say there is no way round this...if the car is registered to you and you dont say who was driving then you WILL get the fine and the points, as for not telling and getting 3 points this will be on top of the fine and points for the speeding offnce.

Sorry to be the doom monger on this... :(

If you send the info back and dont sign it then that will be inadmissable as evidence and may (just Maybe) thrown out of court..

Matt

I think the filth are wise to the "unsigned form" loophole, they just send it back to you with a pleasant request to sign it. Get a Road Angel or something, so you know where the *******s are.

Sorry to hear about this bud, send an email to brunstrom@northwales-police.co.uk and tell him from me he's a w@nker! LOL :)

I know that you weren't in de Wales at the time but you will be doing me a personal service and only Macca does that when he swallows! LMFAO :)

Thanks guys for all your support and suggestions.

Here are the facts, as I recall them, and as Lancashire Police have informed me.

Firstly I live in Grantham in lincolnshire, the alledged offence happened in Blackburn lancs, 130 miles apart (approx). It happened in the town, on a 30mph road, and I was clocked at 37mph, by a static camera. The vehicle is registered in my name only and is insured in my name only. I also don't recall passing the camera, although I do recall passing others, at 30mph. I'm not used to the area, it was very sunny on the day (not that that should make a differance  ) it was a nice day, targas off, windows down and a.......................... ermmm sorry i digress ;)

Thought about the 'Someone interested in buying it' routine, but then I'd have to give an address of where he lives! Thought about the idea of ignoring it, but then I dont like the idea of that one backfirering on me (knowing my luck it f***ing would) So I see no other option apart from returning the form signed! And £60!!!!! how long has it been that much, it was only £40 last time I got one :xxx:

Got cought xmas overtaking a drunk driver. nearly lost the licence in one swoop

In a 1-2 mile stretch near where I live, there are 4 cameras (3 on one road) !!

I'd like to join a group to trash them - wud a stone shot from a catapult work ?

Funny how they site the cameras near bus shelters/junctions etc. ! *******S !!

Roadworks on M53 Wirral - roadworks completed cameras taken down, but 50MPH signs still up (2-3 weeks after all work completed)...mate on his bike got done for doing 60 MPH !! W@nkers.

If i were you dave i would just sign & pay mate. I was working away from home 2yrs ago and without knowing got my photo took in a works van on motorway road works(65 in a 50!). By the time i'd got back from working away the time limit to pay the fine was up. I sent a cheque anyway thinking a couple of days wouldn't make a difference and the bostards sent me the cheque back and said it would now have to go to court. I didn't go to court, i just wrote a letter saying why my payment was late and that a couldn't travel accross the country to be in court. Pretty reasonable i thought!!!!

The fooking bostards ended up fining me and charging me court costs!!!!!

I got 4 points (not 3) and £160 fine (not £60)!!!!!!!!! GET IT PAID SON!!!!!

Someone gave me a good idea, what you say is that you were selling your car & a prospective buyer took it for a test drive. You then say you only got his first name & he was from Liverpool.

Someone got away with a fine by saying this apparently.

You'd probably have to ask for the photos first though so as to make sure you're face isn't visible on the picture!

It wouldn't matter in Liverpool...."cos all fellaz loook de sayme neway layke !...black perms, moustaches and shell-suits"
