Been round at John's today to install the first Tech Edge Wideband O2 sensor he's put together in my car (slaved over more like! Cheers mate, I can't thank you enough for all you've done today...drinks are on me at the gig bud ;))

After testing, the unit seems to working ok, but as yet it isn't operational...the remaining work will be done in the near future.

Here are a few photos we took during the course of the afternoon...suffice to say we got a little carried away with the installation! Lol! :D See what you guys think.....;)

This was the console as it started out today. KnockLink was installed almost 2 weeks ago.

The main unit and display exposed.

The main unit mounted in the footwell.

"Modified" console. Vents have been gutted and cut to accept the O2 display, aluminium sheet shaped to fit and the two units mounted accordingly now with the KnockLinks front fascia removed.

Overview of the finished installation. I'll shortly be making a similiar aluminium fascia for the AVC-R.

Just got to get the stock tape/radio out now as it's a bloomin' eyesore by comparison!

But seriously, this is a fantastic bit of kit. Can't wait to get it up and running :D

No probs mate. Did Lucie kill you when you got back, or was she too impressed by the kit ;)

Just been thinking we might need to gut the cats before we put the sensor in, sure it needs to be before them. I've heard it makes these single exits sound terrible though ....

Lol! Still got all my body parts attached mate so reckon it must've had an effect! (Though like Hayley she seemed able to hide the excitement she HAD to be feeling remarkably well.....;) )

And yeah...bloody noisey single exits.....can't think who'd want to de-cat one and risk making it louder... ;)

yup, will need to be before the cat - unless you want to monitor the efficiency of the cats ;)

dont mount it too far down either, as O2 sensors need to run hot to operate

Cheers Paul, thought so.

These one are self heated, so don't think it matters too much. Thor put them at the end of your exhaust and they still ran OK.

most O2 sensors have a heater these days. its still beneficial to have them heated by the exhaust gasses, so try to mount it as far forward as you can. you may have reliability issues after a while otherwise
