Just thinking about the engine for sale.......

Any ideas on cost for a rebuild, new parts like pistons, cams, crank, rods, bearings etc.

Cost of refurbing the tubs ? Or just get some new bigger ones ?

If it's guaranteed for twelve months, that ain't a bad price, to rebuild the engine properly would probably cost the best part of a grand in new parts and preparing the block, heads etc! But at least you know it's done properly then!

But Markyb300, Martyn would do an excellent job at an excellent price!

It might be worth getting the crank and rods cryogenically treated, cheap and meant to make them 25% stronger!

£1500?? wish mine cost that just got the bill for the gaskets and bearings etc and thats £523 on its own

At a push you may be able to do it on a £1500 budget and thats only if you do it on your own and theres not many garages which will either do a rebuild or that i'd trust to do one.

I dont think you could do a rebuild with forged internals for £1500, no chance not if you do a full rebuild its cost me over £4000 but yes i did go for very good forged internals but it OK pricing up pistons, con rods and shells but its everything else you have to buy which add up  you think youve bought everything then you need to buy another 20 bits......i'm ranting on now what are we all talking about again :p

Kirbz

To take 500bhp plus you only have to replace the pistons with forged and even that is debatable, everything else on the engine is capable of holding that sort of power!

But can it be done for £1200??

As i said above i'd have to say no or a real struggle if you did all the work yourself.

the only reason ive gone forged is i am gonna drop some big turbos in at some point in the near future....when my wallet stops crying

Mike

For parts alone yes, to get to the 500 region!

If you have to add labour then no!

rebuild engine... fook that mines going to go on forever....PLEASE

Kirbz an engine rebuild can be done yourself with forged pistons and replacing nearly all the components for £1200 providing you do the work yourself

API are struggling to get hold of Zed engines now, the last four they have had were very poor quality , there cost has also gone up to £1900 +vat and they will only replace the parts that need replacing

Ryan

Hooow much?
