Had a weird steering problem on the 300 the other day. It's been feeling light and like it's not connected to the wheels for the first 15-20 miles of driving for a while now but I was driving her the other day and until a certain amount of lock (at over about 40mph) it went really heavy. But if I was turning a tightish corner it was really heavy then all of a sudden it went light and the steering jerked because I was pulling on it so much so I had to correct. In towns it doesn't seem to happen at all.

What do we think this problem is? U.J? Speed sensitivity sensor? Rack? Fluid?

Any help would of course be appreciated.

Cheers

Ivan

Almost certainly the speed sensor on the box.

Had this on mine.

Car was difficult to keep in a straight line at speed it was so sensitive then when parking it went really heavy like there was no assistance.
