September 28, 200124 yr I would`nt put too much faith in the JD Powers survey`s.Just like all surveys there are so many variables that an element of mis calculation is bound to happen. The UK car show TOP GEAR got involved with JD Powers and they loved their surveys but its still to me a "non typical survey" ..or put another way .. A guessing game Jeff TT
September 28, 200124 yr Good to see Lexus trounce Bimmer and Merc though, and I can honestly say that after my experiences with Kirk main dealers I'm not surprised they did so shite all round! Six weeks to get a sunroof motor fitted to a mass produced Mercedes 190E...ARSE! 64 squid an hour labour...double ARSE! Service manager telling me that the reason why my parts haven't come in is because they don't order them until you turn up on the day with the car. Incase they get lumbered with a heap of parts, even though I'd had the car booked in for three whole weeks prior? WTF is that all about??? Not to mention that he only told me all this after I kicked off and returned to pick my car up, told me that Merc in Germany had let him down, so basically he'd lied to me! Wankers! Tim ;-)
September 28, 200124 yr god i read up a lot on car industry's news after this, and pretty much gmc, chyrsler, and ford all you hear is stuff like this....... chysler wants to buy 66% of mitsuBITCHy stocks, and they already own 34% which would buy them out...... ford and firestone pisses each other off..... ford avaitor worst test crash rating for it's class...... gmc recalls for windshield and fire hazard defects....... gmc, chysler, ford sales down 5-15% gmc, chysler, ford laying off 15,000 - 50,000 jobs this year then there's toyota Toyota Camry is the best selling car in america for the 4 years running, and is the number 1 stolen car in the states. Toyota Tundra the best selling truck Toyota Tacoma best selling truck in it's class Toyota dispite the ecomomy sales are at a record high, and up 10% Toyota started it's US market about 40years ago, and now has a strong holding with 10% of the car sales in america Toyota bought a factory in america to produce it's V8 line for it's toyota tundra trucks and is exspected to start production in 2003 you know honestly, if this keeps up, Toyota will put every American car company outta business although ford might actually give some competition, cause they are getting smarter by having european mechanics and foreign designers to develop the ford focus lol they're finally catching on
