Just read a comment about losing a watch by 'Mark', which got me thinking, since I've not worn a watch for about 10 years or so. I rely on a well-honed sense of time, oh, and the fact that my mobile acts as a pocket-watch these days.

So are you a watch wearer?

(p.s. This is my first poll, so hopefully it'll work!)

not worn a watch for around 7 years now.... and yeah I'm using the mobile now too :D

I used to wear a watch and when I took it off and forgot to put it back on I felt really lost without it for some reason.

I got used to not having a watch now and like you I usually have to good general idea of the time and when I dont I use my mobile.

All the non-watch wearers stay up late too I see :)

Stu, your reason is actually the same as mine! I had a fake Tag Heure and the strap catch broke. After that I never bothered getting another one. I must admit the left arm felt rather naked for a while :)

Another bonus is no tan line! (but I'm not that picky when if comes to other areas of non-tanned parts)

Hey, I used to have a watch until the other week!! :(:(

Was a daily wearer since I remember, cant be arsed though now. Was gonna get another one but whats the frickin point? I lose everything.......useless :mac1:

havnt worn a watch for many years, they just irritate me but i dont wear rings etc either.

Kirbz

I cant remember the last time i wore a watch. My missus and mates are always amazed that i'm never late, I find it irratating and like Kirbz i dont wear any rings etc.(

Anyway i couldn't afford a watch even if i wanted one, the Z takes all of my £££'s.

Rich:D

I find most jewellery irritating and usually tasteless. used to wear a watch, mainly to work, but now I don't bother & use my mobile for a timepiece.

Always wear a watch, plus I always insist that it's correct ! There is nothing worse than clocks etc being 'a few minutes fast so I'm never late' etc I HATE that, there is only one time and it's correct. My PC's synch using NTP and so do my network equipment and I have two atomic synched clocks in the house. Ooooh - starting to sound a bit obsessed now .....

I also have several watches, from my nice, pukka, 'everyday' Tag F1 to a few old cheapy things for messing around under the car etc. And they're all correct to within a couple of seconds (or in the bin).

(And if anyone wants their Z clock fixed then let me know ;))

my mobile acts as a pocket-watch these days.

Yeah use my mobile. BUt Im going to have to get a watch. Costing me a fortune calling the speaking clock every few mins.

Always have, had to go G shock in the end as I kept busting the pins that hold the strap together giving ***** left hooks (FACT)

I always wear a watch. I feel like something is missing if I forget to put one on, which is diffucult as I have a different one for every day of the week... :D

I tend to wear different style watches to match what style clothes I'm wearing (smart, formal, casual etc). I also like watches and spend nearly as much on them as I do my Zed  ;) My three favourites set me back around £2000 between them (and I'm just looking at another, but don't tell Julia ;) ) while the others were around £80-£200 each, but don't get worn much.

Even though I have a clock on my desk at work, plus the one on the PC and the phone right in front of me I still always refer to my watch to check the time.....

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I gotta put my hand up and say I am a multi watch

Seiko kinetic - everyday

Couple of cheaps for working on the car/ bike (avia/accurist)

Omega- for suited wearing silver cuff links

DKNY for suited wearing gold cuff links

Submerge proffesional for diving

18ct full hunter pocket watch for DJ

I always have my phone with me (except diving when I have my diving computer), clocks in every room in the house, on pc, two in each car (one on stereo, one in dash) and....

I am always late :)

Time is irrelevant anyway!! havent worn a watch since I found out (aged about 14 - 15) that no matter what watch I wore whether cheap or expensive after about a week on my wrist, it stops!! take the watch off and hey presto they work - weird or what???

have tried this with casio, sekonda, tag, junghans,omega,g-shock and rolex!! all the same.

-digital ones are the most amusing the screen gets lighter and lighter over a period of days and eventuall just goes blank -take it off - half hour later no problem.

A brainy friend reckons it could be because I have a very high tolerance to electricity and must carry or accumulate a high static charge that just f*cks them up - hey who am i to argue?

So figured i was better off in my own timeline! -that and the fact that there aint many places these days that there isnt a clock is there?

I sent my watch off to be serviced about a year ago, that cost £100 and when it came back after 6 weeks I was so used to not wearing it that I havnt worn it since :S

more money thrown away............

can't wear watches tend to stop them

I thought I lost my watch about a month ago and my mate called me to say that his girlfriend had found it in their garden the other day after a very drunken Hot-Tub party we had around his house about 6 weeks ago. I was really pis*ed though and couldn't stop looking at his wifes HUUUUUUUUGE !!!! Silicone T*ts in her skimpy bikini (No wonder I lost my watch)

Ohh, feel a little worried now! have a lot in common with AndyP. :D

Always wear a watch, feel 'naked' without one.

My home network is synced with a NTS and all my watches have to be accurate to the second, even my alarm clock is an atomic clock synced one.

Also have a collection of watches from an everyday Tissot Powermatic (nice techy watch) to vintage Omegas and the obligatory 'garage' watch or two!

Guess, this boulis down to teh fact that my mum and dad are the world's worst timekeepers and lateness irritates me intensly.

Tim

I have a smart going-out watch (Jonathan Cole) and an everyday (Seiko) one. I see them as an item of clothing and very useful (I don't have a mobile).

No watch 'ere - not much point when I've got a mobile and a palmtop on me most of the time!

Plus my internal clock is accurate to about 10 mins... Better in summer than in winter for some reason.

Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick, OH !!! Time for Some more BEER !!!! :D

I always wear a watch, except in bed and the bath etc, used to wear it on the wrong hand when i was a kid.

I think mines waterproof so it should be OK for Billing!!!!

Nah, broke the strap about 8 years ago, havn't got round to repairing it yet :D
