Hi All, I have a 300zx Twin Turbo, but for the 3rd time now it's blown a hose  Is this a common fault or is it that the car is old (1990)?

Can somebody please advise..............problems and replacement hoses?

Steve

Hi Wez..........do you have a number for Nissan? The water appeared to be coming out from the middle of the engine, my only concern is that it looked as if it had petrol/oil mixed in with it?

I phoned the local one in St Helens (cup winners),may be the same pipe, the oil /petrol could be the years of spilled stuff from under the plenum may be live in hope

Hi Wes..............I've manged to get a pair of ramps and trolly jack :) So I will be looking tomorrow night at it.

Whats the best way of identifying the hose, by filling up the engine and running it?

Steve

Thanks for that...........roughly how long can it be run for before damage?

Wes,

Allow yourself some time for that mate, its not as easy as it first seems, putting those clips on is a b@stard, but it is a good time to take the thermostat out and give the waterways a good flush. Also take some sanpaper to the ends of the pipes on the engine, they get furred up something cronic.HTH

Jock

spoke to soon the bottom has rounded off does the inlet pipe run water through where the bolts are or just through the rubber pipes .Just started to clean the outlet up the ends were furred so cleaning the whole pipe up with the b&d
