Hey Guys,

The other night i took out my Z32 and you would be sitting quite happy around 2000-3000RPM then suddenly jump right up as if i had the clutch in, when i take my foot off the accelerator it goes fine again, this happened twice.

Also she idles quite high when first starting her, could be linked not sure.

Any Ideas?

Sound like worn / slipping clutch plate to me matey, is it auto or manual?

Manual, i cleaned the connections on the idle control unit and after doing that the problem happened, dodgy connection?

If that is the clutch slipping and it certainly sounds like it - dont make it do it if you can help it because it will only wear out even faster and might score the flywheel. You prolly need to budget quickly for a new one and forget wheelspin starts for the time being.

Not connected to the idle issue tho

Would i need the whole assembly or just the clutch plate?

Where is the best to get just a standard one?

you can get a new clutch from courtesy nissan link http://www.courtesyparts.com

but as your clutch is warn you may as well get an rks clutch upgrade available in the traders section! after shipping and handling your gona pay just as much for a standard clutch kit,as it would cost for a much better piece of kit ;)

also do a search for idle probs as it could be quite a few differant things good luck

Idle has nothing to do with anything when you are driving. Idle is the engine revs when the car is not in gear and with no intervention from the driver.

It sounds like a slipping clutch as said.

Best way to see if it is a slipping clutch is to drive at 40mph in 5th and then floor it. Obviously do this where you legally can.

I wouldnt go for a clutch from CourtesyParts as although they do give good service the parts are not the cheapest for the US, and you will get hammered another $100 for shipping and tax when it arrives here.

See if Smithy has any at the moment or look to import one yourself if you want.

You shouldnt need a new flywheel but it may need skimming or infact you should skim it anyway if you can.

Reading some US tech sites, they say 99% of the time its just the clutch pedal needs adjusting, however, I have not heard from any one on here where it worked.
