OK, here's a silly teenage question I'm having an argument about here...what's the hardest town / city in the UK?

 

We've got votes for Stoke on Trent, Wisbeach, Merthyr Tyddvill (?sp), Portsmouth and Glasgow here so far.

 

I would point out hardness is not my 'specialist subject'. I'd be about as good in a scrap as a wet tea towel.

Having been to Glasgow, Cardiff and Manchester on various stag do's, I couldn't decide which is worse. Maybe Glasgow as i got a pint glass thrown at me there because i was English.........Nice. :rolleyes:

 

Leicester is a pretty hard city, I know a few lads which i wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of.

there was a program about the hardest pub in the uk a pub in Tilbury ESSEX won it, they printed the pub on the front page of the sun with the title hardest pub in britain!

they then started to get coach loads of thugs down to fight them, so they had to shut the pub down :rofl:

glasgows got to be one of the routhest citys but then i guess most places are rough these days bristols pretty bad to along with most citys if you dont live there,i thought u meant the hardest roads about,coz where i live the roads are shite,ud need to replace your bushes every 6mths :cry:

Glasgow for me! Went there with two of me mates when I was in the Navy, one was from Kilmarnock and the other from Aberdeen. When we went into the pubs they told me not to order the drinks or speak at the bar! FFS! Scary or what?

I know some one who went to the Volcano night club in Glasgow, the one featured in Train Spotting. They wheren't allowed in because they where English

I live in Glasgow and go out wi my pals from uni quite a lot. Theres one from Romford, Southport, Manchester and New york. Quite funny the amount of abuse we all get. Just banter tho.

 

Where is that Volcano club? Ive been to Crosslands a lot, the pub where begbie throws the pint over his shoulder.

Nasty places in Manchester, Nottingham can be rough, Wisbech is full of pikeys, dont walk down the wrong side-street in Leicester.

I aint the biggest guy in the world and am normally quiet, but I dont stand for any sh1t, although I am normally the one to look away first......it wasn't my home town after all......different if vice versa..;).....

if you think being in glasgow with an english accent brings you abuse, try the old kent road with a glasgow accent. I was down there a while back with a bunch of mates (one irish, one swedish, one jamaican and myself). W@nky t0sspot boy desides he doesnt like my accent.lol. But having said that a lot of the glaswegians I see down here (especially the young lads) put on the wildest glasgow accents, because I suppose they think it will impress people with how "hard" they are. In closing, I would say that there are hard b@stards wherever you go, just their accents differ :)

Reading is full of gangsters, pimps and yardies- but thats all organised stuff and you can usually survive a night out on the town so I guess we must all be puddy cats.

I'm from brighton, its not the hardest, but definately the gayest. :D

 

Brighton does have its share of 'hard' people, and it's best not to stray out of the city center on a friday/saturday nite. I've only ever been started on once and I cracked his nose and walked away, guess i was lucky :D . Most of my mates have been jumped though, quite often for no reason, they didnt have anything stolen etc.

They find so many gun shot and stabbing victims in and around the South Acton estate in London that they gave up reporting on it years ago.

I had a foreign girlfriend last year, who went to live in the area with one of her mates from home. I stayed there a few nights with her, but you couldn't sleep after 8pm because of all the gun-fire! She moved out again within a week.
