My laptop has NT loaded. It s a bunch of cr*p. I want to reload windows 98. I do not have administrator rights for NT (at least I can't remember the password). How do I do it?

Featured Replies

config the laptop to boot from floppy, and make sure youhave floppy drive in

reboot with 98 startup disk, and install over the top, should do an fdisk for you

unless laptop will boot from cdrom, in which case do that

Be careful though, I tried doing this on my Bros' PC and screwed it up big time!

Thanks guys. i'll give it a spin...

Yes if you spin the laptop around before you reboot...it will surley helP!

If you chaps work in IT I am quite worried no one has mentioned back up your data before you fdisk/format...???

LOL. Only people OUTSIDE of IT would say that. We would all use binary disk editors to retrieve stuff. Hehe.

Seriously though, its a bloody good point!
