I attempted to fill up the air con last night as i was filling it there was a hissing noise coming out from the front right of the engine.

 

Is this a problem anyone has heard of?

 

I have also noticed that there is no belt on the Air Con Compressor.

Sounds like its blown the pressure relief valve :( The valve is located on the rear most fitting on the compressor - kind of a barrel with a brass end, a few mm up the pipe from the fitting. Mine did this, so I junked the whole system :D

mine did this, so i took the valve off, cleaned it out & refitted it ;) :D

Mine has no belt on the compressor either, i'm assuming this means i no longer have AirCon?? I bought it like this.

Try spinning the centre hub - if that won't turn then the compressor has seen its last (or compressed its last LOL).

The hub is ceased..... :eek:

Or it might even be SEIZED ;) LOL

think they seize if they sit uncharged for any length of time. Or am I talking *****x?

No Jock you're spot on ;) Arms and legs spring to mind when costing up a replacement... Who needs aircon in this country anyway? It's cold outside, so I'll go and sit in a fridge.... :rolleyes: yeah right :D

I know of a couple of companies that repair/supply ac compressors if anyone wants one :)

Do you know how much it would be for a a/c compressor?
