Yup the fuel is good, especially for me, i oput optimax and a bottel of octane boosts and im running 100 octane, bingo for my car lol

Detontation is only a problem when you're pushing the boundaries (as defined by Nissan) or when something is set-up wrongly.

Theoretically, good spark plugs that provide a nice fat, healthy spark will lead to a more efficient burn and the engine will run better/more efficiently. The standard plugs in the 300 are not exactly cheap, nasty ones, but technology will probably have changed in the last 10 years and so some small gains may be made by using different plugs - probably only under fairly extreme loads though.

I have used nearly a full tank of Optimax so far and have noticed no difference yet. I'll compare the mpg and pence per mile, when I've done a complete tank and then decide whether it's worth it. I have a run down to Cornwall in a couple of weeks (600mile round trip), so that should be an interesting test, assuming that I can buy Optimax in appropriate places - it's not always that easy.

Either night is OK for me.

I have read their web site, but it relies on two things. a) finding a shell garage when you need petrol b) finding a shell garage that sells Optimax when you need petrol.

I'll probably print some sections of the list out and take it with me. Or maybe we'll take the Meganne and do 38mpg !!!
