Nightmare In The Rain

Was driving home and the wipers were on 'delay' setting and they swipped off the water a couple of times......

....Okay, no problem..............then it happened.......

I'm driving at about 35-40mph and they stopped......the screen got very blurred and I couldn't see anything.....:( The wipers arm had come away from the motor!!

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

It's raining, heavy......I have no tools, I can't see where I'm driving and I've had a crap day at work.....

Hand out of the window to assist the wipers....whilst trying to drive!! LOL

Dangerous, got me home in one piece but must have looked soooo funny, made the reapir job on my drive about 10 mins after I got home (yes, it had stopped raining!!)

I don't think I have sworn so much in ages!! LOL

Soory to hear your woes mate.......

Not a drop has touched the car lately fella, and it's all vanishing fast too!! LOL

Oh dear mate, sorry to hear about this! I know how serious that can be. Had the wiper motor pack up on me in torrential rain along time ago in a galaxy far far away when I had a Capri. Not funny at all!

Also in my Lancia Beta, wiper motor packed up! Left that car as a bonus gift at one of me houses I sold.

I bought some rain-ex ages ago but never got round to applying it. Must try it if it's that good.

Well at least you got home safe dude. ;)

Weird aint it how they both fook up at once!

happened to me in the past m8 and I never put the wipers on full speed again! (not in a z though)

would'nt have tried to wipe windscreen by hand though, would rather drive down motorway in reverse (assuming the back one was working)

Matty, put a socket set in your boot, it costs £4 for a sh1te one at least its there for minor probs.

Having said that they only fell off cos all the hammerite was weighing them down!!!!!

Had a nasty experiance in the Force's.Driving in convoy in Germany, the armoured personel carrier I was following in mine shot straight off the road and flipped upside down in a flooded ditch. The officer who was standing up out of the top hatch was trying to wipe the drivers window for him ,as the wipers were crap.It was that which caused it to run off.The poor sod could not get back inside due to him wearing side poaches.I stopped to assist but he was well trapped and was drowning. So in desperation I ran my APC as hard as I could at the one in the ditch to see if I could knock it out.No chance I'm afraid. The Guy just kicked abit more and was gone. The M.O.D. made a new ruling after that, that side pouches were not to be worn by vehicle commanders.F**kin Wipers Eh!
