does this sound right? I'm clueless about ecu's lol

JWT ECU upgrade chip for any nissan 300zx 1990-1992, manual transmission. This is only the chip not the entire ECU. The stock nissan ECU must be "socketed" before you can install this chip. An electronics shop or speed shop can probably do this. You will also need boost jets (or welding tips) or a boost controller in order to increase boost as desired.

The factory chip is soldered into the ECU board and must be removed and replaced with a socket for the JWT one to sit in.

The socket allows the factory chip to be slotted back in for diags or if you sell the car etc.

I did mine myself but wouldn't recommend it unless you are used to solder work on high density computer boards etc.

Make a mistake and you may need a new ECU $£$£$£$£$£$£$£$!

kszx,

That description sounds like it was cut'n'pasted from a current eBay ad ....

Looks too expensive to me ....

Check with JWT, I hear that they do a 'chip only' option for less.

and you'd be right, and this is going for pretty cheap right now, so i'm considering it.

Try contacting JWT first, if you have time. Someone here mentioned that they do a 'chip only' option, that worked out at something like £85 or $85.
